My car is rated at 662 hp & 634 lb/ft of torque at the crankshaft. Always hear the ~10% loss factor in the drive line which would mean that mine should dyno at the wheels: 601.8 hp and 576.4 lb/ft torque. I put it on a dyno at Austin Cars and coffee this morning. I have the sheet for proof. It is bone stock and registered: 604.09 hp and 609.10 torque. It was the highest powered factory stock car there. It was second highest overall beat only by another Shelby GT500 with only one modification that turned out 641.6 hp and 629.0 torque. His mod was a smaller upper pulley on the supercharger which creates more boost. I could make the same change very easily.
I expect to get similar results when I dyno the buggy now that it's running well. That's a whole lot of power Tom, take care. 8)
Tom, I don't understand the fine points of what you are describing (something I've always regretted, not having an interest in engines when I was young), but what jumps out at me is 600+ HP. I understand that and am awed by the power in your engine.
I don't think my 4 cyc gets even half of those results!! My Brother has a new Corvette, and of course it's a big V8, and he gets about the same mileage as I do with my 4 cyc. That's ironic.
May have solved my traction problem... we'll find out on the next trip to the drag strip. 11" wide tread on these drag radials.
