Congratulations to Dustin. He's very deserving. After a poor April he was on fire the rest of the season at the plate. He's a very good fielder as well and has a great attitude. He saved Buccholz's no-hitter with an absolutely sick play behind second base, then after throwing out the base runner the highlight shows him pumping his fist and yelling "Fook, yeah!". Love the kid.

As a side note, Theo really believed in Pedroia to the point that when there was some discussion in April as to whether Dustin should stay up or spend some time in Pawtucket, Epstein was adamant that he stay up.

Interesting story, Rick. He definitely is deserving of the award. He showed his worth on the biggest stage.

I thought I heard during the series that Ellsbury played in few enough games to preserve his eligibility for ROY next year.

You're right, Sid. Ellsbury will still be a rookie next year, albeit one with a ring already.

As far as Pedroia's hamate bone, the Sox knew. Still, it shows just what type of attitude this kid has.
