Well two of their players said this week that the Rose Bowl is no big deal, been there done that...so now they get their wish a trip to the Las Vegas Bowl!
Nah, they may get the Holiday. They've only been there twice, going 2-0. They've been in the Rose (including more than 50 years ago) six times, going 2-4. I can see how that would get boring.
DAT, how many yards can you run backwards to try to escape linemen? And STILL they catch you? OUCH. I don't see Oregon coming back from this one, Arizona is just smothering them.
 Arizona 42 Oregon 16 The real best TB in America is the Desert Cats Ka'Deem Carey who carried the ball 48 times for over 200 yards and 4 TDs. This scrambles the 12Pac. Stanford will now win the North. In the South, UCLA plays Arizona State right now. The winner will have to beat their arch rival, either AZ or USC for the right to meet Stanford...
Is that the requirement, now? Your team has to be in the NC discussion? I could have sworn it was "most outstanding player" not "leader of the NC team". You say you're tired of arguing about it, yet throw stuff like this out. You say you and AJ and Saban don't care, yet you seem to get offended when others don't think he deserves it. You have a dog in the hunt, and I really don't have a problem with you supporting that dog, but you shouldn't be surprised when others have a different opinion of your chosen dog.
Kesley, Read again. GIVE THE HEISMAN TO ANYONE YOU WANT TO. If someone else is more deserving, then so be it. My argument is McCarron seems to be discounted because Alabama has weapons besides him. It's ok. GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE! I never said anything about "leader of the NC team" (those are your quotation marks, I don't think I ever said that, did I?). \ I'm not surprised at all. As a matter of fact I am used to it. 8)
Kesley, You didn't misunderstand my intent, but you put your words into quotation marks like I had said them. My intent was to make sure that results (i.e. putting your team in contention for the NC) should at least be a factor in the equation. If you don't think that matters then fine. 8)
Maybe I should have italicized it instead since I was paraphrasing; I wasn't trying to quote you. I think a loss that can be attributed to the play of the contender should be considered. I don't think a loss that has nothing to do with the contender should factor in at all. For instance, in Oregon St.'s loss to EWU, Sean Mannion 37/43 for 422 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs. He did everything he could to will them to a win, but the rest of his team let him down. In my opinion, he should have been in the Heisman discussion, but he was never really allowed on the list. The losses to Stanford, USC and ASU are a different question, but he was removed from the discussion before then. If a team loss removes a contender from the discussion, then it becomes a much different award than it has been historically.
Here's a name for you Andre Williams RB of Boston College almost 1900 yds in 11 games, should go over 2000 yds avg's over 8 yds carry for a 7-4 BC team...he's carried that team. What say you Kes?
When you look back at the names in that Heisman top 5 there are some Hall of Fame names...including Jim Brown who finished 5th. While Pro careers are not necessarily a validation of the winner, Hornung is a College HOF member and a Pro Football HOF member, and don't forget when he was in his prime as a HB at Green Bay he was also one of the top place kickers in Pro football. He was a tremendous player on a bad team. If he played on todays Alabama team he'd have run for 2000 yds and passed for 5000 yds!
Hey look what do I know? Alabama has only had one winner and that was 3 years ago. We have obviously been doing something wrong. :?
