And 3 hours each way to and from the game from my daughters house. Losing the game and having only 67 yards of offense though 3 quarters. Hard to calculate the cost. Spending time with the grandkids, daughter and son-in-law priceless. What else can I say?
Bill, Some games can really be upseting, but hopefully all of us can keep the important things in perspective, like family. Glad you made it back home safely. Take note that Ohio State will be visiting Gainsville Tuesday evening to play the Gators. (6:00 P.M. ESPN) Should be a pretty good matchup, with both squads returning personnel from last season, with the exception of Evan Turner.
Re: basketball. I don't follow OSU, but someone told me the freshman from Fort Wayne scored 20-some points the other night coming off the bench. He certainly was a man among boys in HS.
Sid, you're talking about DeShaun Thomas who I believe was Indiana's Mr. Basketball. He was extraordinary the other night and is going to be a great, great player and was part of another fantastic recruiting class by Thad Matta. His Indiana roots and experience have paid huge dividends for us on the recruiting trail....Deshaun looks to be one of the first two off the bench on a very good team.
Terry, He committed to OSU as a HS freshman, and back then I thought, Yeah, right. But he stuck with it. He literally carried his HS team on his shoulders to a state championship (maybe two?). To be a Mr. Basketball in any state is tremendous, but in Indiana, it's usually a predictor of great success at the next level. Sounds like he's off to a good start.
Looking forward to Gator BB at this point after that disaster of a football game last night. Won't be driving up for any of those though.
