    I know many don't care for Newt Gingrich. I very much enjoy the historical fiction books he's written. He also gets to the heart of the matter when he speaks. Here's a good suggestion for an enerty policy.

    There are some things about Newt that annoy me, however he is a straight talker who makes a lot of sense.

    Partisan politics is a dire threat to our nation's governmental system. People like Pelosi from both sides of the fence need to stop considering what the other side is doing (and subsequently being against it) and start considering what the American people want and need. I understand preserving our environment and I understand that alternate fuels need to be developed to power our nation. However, the crossover is not going to happen overnight. We need more oil, IMO, to sustain this country and make the transition that much easier. I'm not sure what it will take but something has to wake these idiots up.

    How ironic is this?
    Big Oil will continue to make large profits as long as the price of oil is high. So by continuing to oppose additional domistic drilling it's the Democrats who are the biggest friends of Big Oil.
    Additionally the American dollar will continue to slide as we continue to import so much foreign oil. Again, it's the Democrats who perpetuate this problem.
    How much unmitigated gall does it take to say that if we start drilling now it will take 10 yrs to get ANWR online. 10 yrs ago we should have been drilling but the Dems. had vetoed the bill allowing it.
    I think that many Americans get what and who the problem is. Once again, it looks like the Democrats may be self-destructing. The number one issue right now for the American public is high gas prices, not the war, not abortion, not subprime mortgages. Pelosi and the other far liberals have sold out the American public when they sold their souls to the environmentalists.
