After ascending to #1 in basketball, they played some close games with Iowa State and Texas A&M, finally going to #10 KState was the clincher. But personally I feel it's better to lose a few now than and get the pressure of maintaining a long winning streak off your backs, recover and rededicate the season. I mean, as good as Texas is, we are not the UConn Ladies!!

BTW did you see that after bumping off #2 Stanford easily at home, crushing #3 ND at home, the UConn ladies went on the road to #6 Duke and crushed them by 30+ points. There own 70 game wining streak is in danger for sure, they may be the greatest womens team of all-time.

Watched that game to the end last night. Texas made a great come back at the beginning of the second half but couldn't sustain it. They will go a long way in the tourney.

As for UCONN women, you will get no argument from me. With the many great teams that PAt Summitt has had, I don't think even one of them compares to this year's UCONN team. They look like world beaters. If we were comparing all years of women's teams, as a Vol, I would gladly take second place to them.

Someone will knock off Kentucky down the road. Its tough to go the whole season undefeated anymore.

Damn Baylor came to Austin and beat us in OT, and don't forget we had to go to OT at home to beat Texas A&M. I wonder what is wrong with the team?

Terry, Texas is having a good season.

The two NC's that the Gators won, we reached this point in the season and were struggling. Better now than at Tournament time.

Baylor is coached by an Indiana boy, Scott Drew, the son of the Valparaiso coach, Homer Drew. As the saying goes, "Don't mess with Indiana."

Scott Drew, I read that he is extremely unpopular with his fellow B12 coaches. Of course I read that on a Texas board so I don't know what to make of it.

Do you recall Bryce Drew from several years ago? ND thought they had him locked up, then he decided to play for his dad. He led Valpo into the Sweet 16 with a miracle shot that still gets shown in March Madness videos. I believe he now is an asst. coach for his dad, which is how Scott got started.

Finally got to what Texas fans are upset with Drew about. It's in this article from the NYT last year.

Interesting. Drew could be hurting his chances of moving on and up in the future.

    Terry,

It's not just with you guys. Everyone thinks Drew is a punk.

Not only the recruiting... his teams are thugs... and simply try to beat you up rather than outplay you.

Lord knows I don't mind when your boys lose, but not to the Brazos Bozos!!

Longhorns continue their funk, lost again this weekend, that makes it 2-4 in their last 6 games since reaching #1 status. I guess that's not enough losing to affect their ranking as they are still ranked in the top 15. I wonder how many loses it will take for them to be out of the top 25? They will likly get one tonight vs Kansas.

When Texas ascended to #1, this game looked like the marquee game of the regular season. Not now.
