Oregon now has the inside track in the 12Pac North... The 12Pac South will be decided in the next two weeks. UCLA plays Arizona State, then USC for the right to face the Ducks in the conference championship game... Stanford's disaster: http://goldengatesports.com/2013/11/16/stanford-fails-hold-usc-falls-17-20/
I was going nuts and couldn't understand what Stanford was doing (or trying to do) on offense. Their defense was world class tonight, but their offensive selection was offensive.
OK if in 2005 I would have told you that USC would rush the field and bedlam would break out in the Colisieum after a victory over Stanford...how hard would you have laughed at me. Standford Defense...sure good, but cripes the Irish don't have a good defense and we shut them out in the 2nd half and essentially went 3 and out on offense the whole half. Stanford Offense...it was what a week ago that everybody was aga over the physicality of the Stanford offense, imposing it's will on Oregon. Admirers of "Smash Mouth" football everywhere were a "Twitter" over the old school Stanford offense. No flag football there. But all of that aside...it was a great game. I wonder if Eddie O will get that job? I can't help but note that USC has what 56 scholarship players and the rest walkons, but the scholarship players that they have are all 4 and 5* kids, bet the walkons aren't your usual walkons either.
