We know that week 14 will be an extremely short week. I am starting this poll because a lot of participants hated the short weeks last year. Do we want to have the top three positions declared early to eliminate a 7 game, or a 12 game week? You must vote with a response so that we count only people in the contest: Option 1: Let it run through week 14 as planned in the beginning. Option 2: Run through week 13 only due to 14 being a very short week. Option 3: Run through week 12 since week 13 (and maybe 12) will be short but not as short as 14. Pick option 1, 2, or 3.
I will start off by voting for option 1 since I don't care for changing the rules during the contest but I will go with the majority vote. I do believe that we should change it... for next year and will start the discussion going before the contest starts in 2010.
Option 1. It really doesn't make any difference whether or not we declare the winner before the # of games declines to where they become your "dropped" score even if you select all winners, or let it play out. I think very little will change either way, so let it play out.
What started me thinking about this was the grumbling last year when it became evident that the week 15 would be dropped for everyone that had not zeroed a week. That made it predictable as to the outcome. For it not to be predictable, the last week has to have more available points than your highest dropped week.
I'm like Tom, let it run this year, option 1. However if we can predict the short weeks then I would vote to shorten it next year and perhaps then also cut the number of dropped weeks.
as long as it is no inconvenience to you, I say play it out. I want to see how far I can sink in all this.
So far: Option 1: 5 Option 2: 0 Option 3: 0 Understand, I brought this up solely because of the grumbling last year. I am not pushing one way or the other.
BDR always has a graphic way of responding to any question: So far: Option 1: 8 Option 2: 0 Option 3: 0
So far: Option 1: 10 Option 2: 0 Option 3: 0 Five more votes for option one and this is a dead issue.
Well... that was either a vote for option 1, or it... was... well, we won't go there. So far: Option 1: 11 Option 2: 0 Option 3: 0 Four more votes for option one and this is a dead issue.
