    Hello God,

Its me...Jimmy. Thank you for taking that bum Perez off our hands and sending him all the way to the American League. Kansas City is a swell place for him. He'll fit right in. I guess Siberia was out of the question...eh?

How bad did the Dodgers want to get rid of Odalis Perez? Here's the deal...

The Dodgers will pay ALL of the remaining $15 million bucks on Perez contract. They're literally paying him to pitch for Kansas City. In addition, they sent two minor league pitchers to the Royals, including one kid who was their #2 draft choice in 2004...

The Dodgers received Mexican pitcher Elmer Dessens, who was here a few years ago. Dessens was so happy to be back, that he turned down an offer to have the night off and arrived from the airport after the game had begun. He got his uniform (Perez's #45 with a new name on it!) and pitched two shutout innings against the Padres.

    Meanwhile in Siberia...

There was no word on when or whether Odalis Perez would show up. When asked where Perez would fit into the Royals pitching plans, KC's manager said, "I'm not sure"...
