Purdue DE's are a lot like VaTech DE's, in terms of size and speed. I know Phillips esp was a thorn in ND's side and I believe abused Brady Quinn in his Freshman year so much that had it been a fight the ref would have had to stop it.

Spreaking of Purdue DEs, I once met the great Lamar Lundy, a member of the famed Fearsome Foursome. It was in Richmond, Indiana, his hometown, at the Indiana HS Football Hall of Fame, where he was serving as a volunteer host. He was as nice as he was big. He died earlier this year from cancer. Here is a nice piece about him. I did not know until I read this piece that he was the first black athlete to receive a football scholarship to Purdue.

Lamar Lundy was one of the heroes of my youth, when the Rams were still the Rams...
