Well I still don't get it. Where the hell are these jobs supposed to come from with this bill? Today on Lou Dobbs they mentioned the hundreds of millions being paid to Phillapino war veterans. Why? If I recall the Japanese invaded and occupied the Phillapines. Our men and women fought them there and died to liberate them. Now we have to give their soldiers money? Just how does that create America jobs?
And while we're at it, how does $650 mil. for converter boxes create jobs? The changeover was supposed to occur this month so I assume most if not all of the boxes have already been manufactured. The cupons save $40 off the $60 box. Other than a few printers to make the cupons, how in hell does this create jobs?
And there's plenty more where that came from. This bill like it's biggest supporter is nothing more than a fraud.

How about the $355 bil toward STD prevention? How about 'keep it your pants"! Or "dont mess with skanks"!

    That advice is free.

I wonder if they are talking about Phillipine War vets from WWII, if so then there shouldn't be that many of them. They didn't have that big an army/navy/air force to start with, and many of those that fought in WWII probably have already passed away. I mean the end of WWII is now. 62 years ago, even a kid of 18 in 1946 who was in the Phillipenes Armed services would be 80 now, and why do I think life expectancy for those men and women wouldn't be 80 years given the quality of medical care in the Phillipines and the rough environment (malaria) in which they live.

The other group could be Phillipinos who served in the U S Navy. Even when I was in the Navy citizens of the Phillipines could enlist in the Navy. The Chief at my Dental Clinic was Phillipino and explained to me that most of them never get past seaman 2nd class, but they could stay 20 years as stewards and retire back to the Phillipines and live like Kings on a 20 year Navy pension. I wonder if this is the group they are talking about?

The impression I got was it was the WWII vets. They mentioned $15,000 each.
