OK baseball guys, what do you think about Cooperstown Dreams Park? Is it a good organization that is of value to youth development, or a license to print money? Do you think another Cooperstown Dreams Park in a different location would have the same allure (not being near the B-ball HOF)? Picture it in Newberry, Florida - a "Mayberry" town 15 miles from lovely Gainesville. http://www.cooperstowndreamspark.com/
To me, it looks like a marketer's dream in terms of attracting youth baseball teams, families, and $$ from all over. I can see where it would be a cool experience to play in/near Cooperstown, but I wonder if the attraction would be the same elsewhere. My 10 yr. old grandson had a chance to be on a traveling "all-star" team that was entered in a tournament in Cooperstown. His parents were uncertain that they could accompany him and felt he was too young to be without his family, so they wisely decided that he would not go. I'm guessing it won't impact his chances for a college scholarship. Seriously, I would never discount the ability of financially savvy entrepreneurs to be successful with a similar venture in a place like Newberry, FL, but I would consider it highly risky. I guess I would ask the question, How do you sell the attraction of Cooperstown in a location other than Cooperstown? Did I interpret your question correctly?
