Scott, congratulations on Johnny Manziel's Heisman Trophy. He's an impressive young man, as he showed tonight.

An aside: at the 1993 Cotton Bowl (following the 1992 season), I was leaving the stadium and walked within a few feet of John David Crowe. We made brief eye contact. I nodded and smiled respectfully, and he nodded back with a smile. It's an experience I've never forgotten.

Congrats to JFF and all the Aggies. JFF had a great year and he showed me something with his acceptance speech. Worthy winner. In fact really there were no losers tonight, I didn't know much about Colin Klein but after watching the pieces on him I have a lot of respect for that young man, he's a winner as well.

I'm very happy for Johnny, and proud that A&M has it's second winner.
I am actually sad they couldn't split it three ways.
I thought each guy brought something unique and valuable to the game, and all were worthy of being the winner.

Corey... holy smokes that outfit was hard on the eyes!

Well said, Scott. I especially admired Collin Klein, who I was seeing for the first time. He, along with the other two, is a class young man. How many times in the past have we said, but for the presence of (the winner), he would have deserved the award? Like you said, all three were deserving.

You know the only possible downside of him winning in his freshman year is that if for some reason the rest of his career is not as spectacular as this year, people may be pretty cruel. Most winners move right on to the pros, Johnny "(insert latest accolade here)" is going to have to stick around for at least 2 more seasons. :?

    Don,
I am totally in agreement. Repeating at the National Champion is very difficult, but I was really talking about Manziel. He will be around for 2 more seasons. If he doesn't repeat, I predict the media will be less than complementary.
