I think people sometimes errantly underestimate the toughness of the SEC conference schedules:

"2007 Team Recruiting Rankings - From Rivals
    RNK TEAM CONF PTS*

    1. Florida SEC 2,959
    2. USC Pac-10 2,761
    3. Tennessee SEC 2,726
    4. LSU SEC 2,695
    5. Texas Big 12 2,562
    6. South Carolina SEC 2,190
    7. Auburn SEC 2,013
    8. Notre Dame I-A Ind 1,932
    9. Georgia SEC 1,895
    10. Alabama

That's SEVEN SEC teams out of the top 10.

In a couple of seasons playing tough out of conference schedules in the SEC may be entertaining for the nation but certainly not necessary for the BCS rankings.

Actually most seasons that is the reality of playing in the SEC.

I wasn't that long ago that the SEC West was about equivalent to the WAC and the only UGa, Tenn and Fla were really any good. Right now you are in an up cycle for sure.

You are using recruiting rankings to talk about schedule strength???

    I'd say that's stretching things a bit...

Great recruiting rankings year after year eventually add up to great talent on hand.

Throw in Meyer, Richt, Saban, Fulmer, Spurrier, Miles and Tubberville and......I think that all that talent and speed gets coached up a little bit into something special.

Have you ever seen one conference dominate a top ten recruiting ranking as much as the SEC does in the one I list for 2007?
