Amazing story for Colt to go from little known, lightly recruited QB from a small town in Texas to leading Heisman Candidate. Almost an after thought in his recruiting class, that year the big target was Ryan Perraloux who was commited to Texas but changed to LSU at the last moment.

Following Vince Young at Texas you wouldn't ever figure that Longhorn fans would ever see another kid at QB who could carry the team like Vince did. While he is certainly a different player than Vince, but he's the heart and soul of the team and there is nobody behind him to take up the slack.

Texas fans have loved him and not loved him, he's been banged up and not 100% ever since the KState game of his freshman year, Scotts Ag's did a number on him that same year. Last year he was an interception machine. But he's hung in there and gotten bigger (though not Tim Tebow Big) and stronger and faster. For a white boy he's pretty darn quick.

Don't know if he'll win it but I hope he does, he's had an helluva year so far. But as we all know when it comes to the Heisman it's almost a week to week thing at this point in the year, if he doesn't play well at Texas Tech he'll drop.

I wonder how his stats compare with Tebows from 2007 at this point in the season. I doubt if he's even close on the running side of things, but the passing side might be interesting to see.
