After this past week, anything is possible in college football right?

Now if Tom and Cindy lay a lot of confidence points on the Volunteers, we can get ahead of them in the contest.

If Coach Meyer does not start J.T. Barrett at Rutgers, I will be looking for a new coach.

Not sure how my QB will complete a pass this week: he won't have any Alabama players to throw to!

    :p

14 undefeated teams left standing after week 7. The Top 7 are undefeated.

Oklahoma State, Iowa and Fla. State are also undefeated...the next 4 Memphis, Houston, Temple and Toledo are really not serious challengers for the final 4. Possible of course.

Of the 10 Power 5 undefeateds teams...

Ohio State plays Mich State.... there will be 9 undefeated teams after that game.

FSU plays Clemson...there will be 8 undefeated teams after that game.

Okstate plays TCU ...there will be 7 undefeated teams after that game.

Iowa does not play any undefeated teams...could run the reg. season table.
Utah does not play any undefeated teams...could run the reg season table.
Baylor and TCU play each other but it's possible both could have 1 loss when they play.
LSU still has to play Alabama ...

So it seems likely that after it all settles that the reg season will at best finish with 3 undefeated teams.

This is where it gets dicey, if Baylor, OK.State or TCU finish undefeated and don't play a Conf Championship there will be some hard feelings if other undefeated teams have to play and lose in that conference championship. Always exciting and controversial in the end.

As always if there is only 1 undefeated left at the end and a bunch of 1 loss teams...oooh boy.

IF LSU loses to Bama then I'm pretty confident that the playoffs will include a one loss SEC Champion if any of LSU, Bama or Florida runs the table and finishes 12-1.

However.... undefeated teams that could exclude a one loss SEC Champion would be imho undefeated champions from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac 12 if all 4 happened which is pretty unlikely.

FSU vs UF looms as a elimination game for both teams.

FSU has to beat both Clemson and Florida and be 13-0 to get in.

A loss to either one dooms the semis.

ND is hurtin as always with one loss because of no conference title game to boost them at selection time.

3-3 USC is the favorite over undefeated top 10 Utah at home? Say again?

Looks like Urban listened to Don...J.T. Barrett is going to be the starter for Ohio State. Has to be at least a little bit of a kick in the nuts for a guy who has never lost a game as the starter at Ohio State, to be benched.

It'll certainly be curious as to how Urban uses Cardale going forward.

I've thought all along that Don is one of Urban's most trusted confidantes.

    Terry & Sid,

Urban is caught in the crosshairs on this one, Cardale has a terrific arm, but we do not have any really good deep receivers. Cardale cannot run the read option and is more of a detriment.

J.T. has a good arm and can handle the read option without any problems. You will see Cardale but only in mop-up situations. at least for the most part.

Cardale will still be playing...bet on it.

It was kind of inevitable that the change would be made.

One authors take on the wildest finishes in College Football....I'm sure somebody can come up with a completely different finish. They didn't even have Kordell Stewarts Hail Mary to beat Michigan. That's my favorite UM finish not involving Harry Oliver and ND! :)

Longhorns re-up with Nike at a record number, higher than the amount that Nike paid Michigan. Personally I don't know how these shoe/apparel companies justify these enormous outlays, I'm sure though that they have research and data to support that it grows their business.

I just know that I buy what I like, not what the teams I follow have contracts with or who my favorite player(s) have contracts.

Adidas has been great for A&M if for no other reason than the t-shirts offered are actually maroon.
Nike always tried to pass off that OU crap on us.

Memphis wins over Tulsa 66-42 in a wild one tonight. Records set in total points and over 1200 yards of offense by the two teams combined.

Don't know what is going to happen in Austin with the KState game... monsoon conditions today all across Texas. Same for Baylor/Iowa State
