If the game last night between Hawaii and San Jose State, is any indication, this may be a wild and exciting week of football.

With about 6 minutes left in the game, and my fire department pager going off, I had kissed my 18 points good bye. The call out was for a 18 wheeler on fire at the diesel pumps of the truck stop at the south end of our calling area.

I returned home to find that Hawaii pulled it out in overtime. Wish I had Tivo'se that game!

    You're kidding??

I went to bed (had to work early today) thinking I'd just dumped a huge number of points.

    WAY TO GO HAWAII!!

Not that it really matters. I doubt anyone took SJSU for a large number...

Hawaii scored with just under 4 minutes to go and on the ensuing kickoff took it out to their 40 yard line. The first running play went for 5 yards and things looked good for San Jose State. Then on the second play they fumbled on about their 45 yard line and Hawaii moved the ball in to tie the game.

I imagine most of us are counting our good fortune with that win for the contest.

Iowa trips Illini at home. That cost me some confidence points.

Oklaohma State is really whipping up on Nebraska.

Michigan throttles Purdue. Looks like the Boliermakers are melting down again.

Wow Don, you might want to slow the Buckeyes down!

If you end up in the top 5 you are doomed!

What if the NC game comes down to Boston College vs. South Florida? Has anyone figured this season out ? I know I haven't. Did Colt Brennan have a good game or a bad game against San Jose State? Yes...he threw five interceptions...that's bad. But wait! He threw 75 friggen passes and won the game! I honestly don't know how to judge a performance like that. We're in uncharted territory...

    Scott,

Believe me, thats all I have been thinking about, with us coming into the meat of our schedule. Pray for us!

    Stu,

No rub, just disappointed the Boilers did not upset Michigan.

    That was wild

<r>What a load of great games. LSU/UK - I never dreamed Kentucky's defense was that good. Cal/OSU - What a mistake by the redshirt freshman QB. Hell the So. Car./ No. Carolina game was pretty good. I didn't get to see the Ole Miss/Alabama game (I had to read the gametracker) but besides the fact that neither team had a defense it was a barnburner too. Auburn/Arkansas no offense but what a finish. 6 of the top 25 were upset and 2 of the top 5. You gotta love college football! <E></E></r>

When I saw the score this morning between Boise State and Nevada, I thought that has to be a record. (offensive output)

69-67 is one whale of points scored.
