Well it got under way last night when the Longhorns escaped from Ames Iowa with a win. It wasn't pretty, and we tried to give it away several times but replay corrected the calls and kept us from blowing it.

Longhorns defense looked good again, but the offense didn't really look great our OL is going to be a problem. But it's a W, it's just that with KState, and OU coming up Tom Herman is going to have to do some real coaching.

We've got some good games tonight. Neb vs Illinois and really hard to imagine this is the late Friday night game. USC visiting the Cougars up on the Palouse, certainly no bright lights or Hollywood stars up there, well the bright lights are the stars in the sky not neon! But nobody east of the Rocky Mountains will probably even see the game.

Game of the week though is Va.Tech entertaining Clemson. Justin Fuente doing a great job at Va.Tech, they played Clemson in the ACC championship game last year, has he made enough progress to pull the upset? A lot of people are saying Clemson is a more complete football team than Alabama.

Another big game is Georgia visiting Knoxville and the Vols. Butch Jones under fire after losing to UF and barely beating a really bad UMass team at home. Georgia is looking like they are legitimate esp on defense, right now you'd have to say they are clearly the best team in the SEC East. If they put a beat down on the Vols, Jones will be feeling the heat from fans at least.

Texas A&M entertains So. Carolina. Aggies really need this win, Kellen Mond seems to have taken control of the QB job and is improving with his passing so that will help them on offense.

Hope everybody enjoys their football weekend!

Kes texted me they are gray!

Good 1st half, Leach that sneaky bastard ran the ball with no timeouts left inside the 2... If they don't have enough time to get off another play.. SC bit on the play fake big time and the Wazzu kid scored standing up.

    Great game for the Cougs!!

Their defense flies around, and makes things happen.
Very strange for a Leach team.

It was a late, great night. It sure is nice to see a defense back on the palouse.

Kes, I'm a Mike Leach fan for the simple reason that a close friend of mine roomed with him at BYU. I'm even more of a fan after last night's win over the "mighty" (Ugh!) Trojans.

Mike Leach went to BYU. I loved his comment after the game, "It was just like Woodstock, except everyone kept their clothes on."

Georgia really put it to Tenn in Knoxville, I thought they would win but I thought it would not be a blowout. Butch Jones is in big time trouble.

The Gators Luke Del Rio broke his collarbone and is out for the year, but they take care of business vs Vandy and get their biggest offensive output of the year.

If it holds Troy beating LSU could be dangerous for Coach O's health.

Not to make excuses for LSU but didn't Troy nearly upset Clemson lasr year in Death Valley? For a small school from the Sunbelt, they don't look like a doormat team.

Wonder if the LSU fans who were wishing for years for Les to be fired fired are having seconds thoughts. A monkey paws wish for Tiger fans.

Great 4th qtr by the Aggies to get the win.

I'm finishing up with the Tech v Oklahoma State game which is all tied at 34 - 34 9 minutes to go, should be a barn burner finish.!
