Well lets see what games actually get played!!! 1. Alabama v Kentucky ...Tide should roll, but Kentucky isn't necessarily an easy out. 2. Ohio State v Indiana ...#9 v #3 a top 10 matchup you wouldn't have thought would be one before the season started. IU QB is having a great season, shows a lot of athletic talent, could give the Buckeyes some trouble, but they eventually have too much talent for the Hoosiers. 3. Notre Dame -bye 4. Clemson at FSU - FSU a team in the tank for the season. 70 point win for Clemson. 5. Texas A&M v Ole Miss...this will be an interesting game for sure. Kiffin's offense will surely test that A&M defense and Kiffin himself will be a show! Kellen Mond though playing well and A&M should win. Well scratch that, I just saw that this game has been postponed. 6. Florida at Vanderbilt ...closest thing to an open date you can have this season. 7. Cincinnati at UCF ...this could be a great game. UCF is a solid team and the Bearcats will need to bring their A game. 8. N.Alabama at BYU ...I wonder if this is a bus trip for N.Alabama? I have to say BYU has really done a great job of putting together a schedule. Not a great schedule but still back when all this broke out they were pretty much left with no games. In a similar situation ND and the ACC came to an accomodation, that was not possible for BYU. 9. Indiana at Ohio State 10. Wisconsin at Northwestern...2 undefeated top 25 teams. This could really be a great game, Wisconsin might not be as good as they looked against Mich and Minn. 1st real test for the Badgers. Other games. UCLA at Oregon ...Ducks are the leading candidate from the Pac 12 to make the CFP. Wazzu gave them a great game last weekend, so they might be vulnerable. Illinois at Neb...Huskers go to 2-1!! AJ gets out the train set! Texas at Kansas ...Tom Herman continues to fight for his job, is the Hat out of quarantine finally? Longhorns should cruise here. Iowa at Penn State ...Iowa played really well last 2 weekends, do they continue the misery in Happy Valley? KState at Iowa State ...sort of an elimination game for KState, they already have 2 losses and can't afford another one. Iowa State and Oklahoma State both have only 1 loss in the B12, so technically they can afford a loss and still stay in the hunt for the B12 championship. Miss State at Georgia. Smart sticking with Stetson Bennett? Tenn at Auburn . Gus needs the win! Oklahoma State at Oklahoma...Bedlam! This is huge, OU like Texas can not lose another game. Oklahoma State loses to OU and it puts them in a bind when it comes to tie breakers having lost to both Texas and OU, if we have a bunch of 2 loss teams. Liberty at NC State ..this is Liberty's 3rd ACC game. Michigan at Rutgers...Michigan gets well on the road in New Jersey. USC at Utah ..Utah in a big Covid crisis, I wonder if this game even gets played? But USC is the other team that is the hope of the Pac 12.
Well crap. My boys were just hitting their stride, so not sure what sitting out two weeks will do. Fudge.
ACC has reshuffled it's schedule due to virus issues with Miami. The Hurricanes are out for the next 2 weeks and their final 3 games have been rescheduled, this has resulted in games involving Louisville, UNC and Gat Tech also have been moved around. ACC reshuffles schedule amid Canes' virus issues
It definitely impacted the Irish, but then we were sitting out because of our own Covid outbreak so that impacted the team workouts, conditioning, etc. If you are just not playing because the other team can't play, then you can still workout and condition. Still when you have things going well and you have 2 weeks of not playing, you certainly do risk losing momentum. When you've played a lot of games and come to a bye week that is often a good thing to rest the team, but 2 weeks is different.
I'm sure the COVID thing and weird schedules is playing havoc with computer rankings...but I was looking at Sagarin and it is really strange. Ohio State 'Bama Wiscy Clemson Fla Iowa Oregon ND Georgia NW BYU Indiana Cincy Oklahoma Texas A&M Auburn UNC Washington Miami Fl Purdue
Very weird season..... it's too bad UF is having such a monster year on offense that is likely to be remembered with an asterisk and the legitimacy of the season is so threatened by Covid cancellations and an uneven number of games played by teams. UF has no more open dates so it's probably a matter of time before their schedule is abbreviated.
That is a strange computer ranking Stu. It's like they didn't count A&M beating Fla and ND beating Clemson.
With games being cancelled every week, and Championship week for ACC/SEC/B12 and Big 10 being Dec 19th I wonder what conferences will do if one or both of the teams slated to play turn up with Covid problems and can't play that week?
I wondered what the Heisman was going to do with all the teams playing beyond the 1st week in Dec when they usually announce the winner, but I see they have delayed it till January.
Just in case you're bored, this is the HUDL highligts for my nephew Ben Harris who is going for his 4th State Championship starting this weekend. Only lost 2 games so far in his HS career. He's a QB.
Kyle Trask has jumped to the top of the Heisman watch on ESPN 1. Kyle Trask 2. Mac Jones 3. Justin Fields 4. Trevor Lawrence 5. Zach Wilson. I'm not sure what Trevor did to get passed by, he's had a great season, he didn't play against ND that's the only thing you could say and that wasn't up to him. No doubt though those 3 guys ahead of him are having great seasons and are deserving.
David Pollack said that Hugh Freeze is the best choice for So. Carolina. That would be an interesting choice for sure, but it would certainly seem like an ideal spot of a young up and comer like Billy Napier.
Muschamp is getting paid $15-17 million to leave S. Carolina and he got a $6 million buyout from Florida. Someone on GatorCountry said he is getting paid a fortune to not coach.
