Now that the CFP rankings are out and it's Nov, the playoffs start now, all the 1 loss teams have to win out if they want to be in the playoffs. There will be no 2 loss teams in the playoff.

The undefeated teams like UGA and Alabama could survive a loss in the regular season if it's followed up with the SEC Championship. I think Wisconsin which is already below the best 1 loss teams due to weak schedule, would be done if they lost a regular season game. I'm not sure for them even a B1G championship would be enough to move them into the top 4. For them undefeated and B1G champions would definitely do it.

So that said the big games this weekend.

#1 UGA goes to So.Carolina. They should handle the chickens easily.

#2 Alabama hosts LSU ....LSU will have a ton of freshmen starting including a couple of OL's. That's not a formula for success vs Alabama. Big win for the Tied.

#3 Notre Dame hosts WF.. Irish are 2 TD favorites, WF will be without some key players, so the Irish should win handily. They'd better win handily. :)

#4 Clemson goes to NCState ... if Kelly Bryant is still not 100% this could be a rough game for Clemson. NC State in spite of getting hammered by Notre Dame last week on the road is a very good football team and could make this a close game or even beat Clemson.

#5 OU goes to #11 OK State for their annual "Bedlam" game. This to me is a toss up. OU has great offense, OSU has great offense, neither has shown great defense. Could be a shootout and the difference being Baker Mayfield

#6 Ohio State goes to Iowa ... in years past I'd guess most Ohio State fans would say Iowa is a tough game at home no matter what. Maybe so, but a close 1 point win even on the road at Iowa might not help their case in the next rankings. Buckeyes should win, but like the rest of the 1 loss teams a quality win is needed. Although in Ohio States case I do think in the end if they win out and win the B1G they will be in.

#7 Penn State goes to Mich State ...since Mich State is a ranked team Penn State probably can do ok with just a "win". But as long as Ohio State keeps winning I can't see them jumping ahead of them. But who knows, the only thing they can do is win and look as impressive as possible the rest will take care of itself

#8 TCU at Texas ....Again TCU needs to win out and they have an important Date with OU in a couple of weeks. So they need to beat Texas solidly to regain some monmentum. Trouble is I think the Texas defense is better than that Iowa State defense. I can see Texas winning a low scoring game, but we do have to score. Texas offense hasn't been very good against good defenses..so there's that.

#9 Wisconsin is at Indiana...should be another solid win for Whisky, but again over an opponent who is 0-5 in B1G play so no points for a win here. They'll at best tread water and hold their spot.

#10 Miami hosts #13 Va. Tech. This is a huge game for both teams, both if they win out could be in the playoffs. Miami for sure if they win out and are the undefeated ACC champs are in the playoffs. Va.Tech is a 1 loss team who if they win out including the ACC Championship would not be guaranteed the slot but would have a good case.

    Other games

Texas A&M hosts Auburn. Huge game for Aggies and Sumlin after that stinker vs Miss State. They need to rebound in the worst way. A loss here and they could have another Nov to forget and Sumlin will be unemployed. For Auburn with 2 losses they don't really figure into the playoff senarios but they have on 1 SEC loss and with Alabama to play they could have a chance if they win out to the Iron bowl of upsetting Alabama and getting to the SEC Championshp game having tie breaker for head/head. So a lot to play for in this game.

Iowa State at WVA ...Cyclones control their destiny in the B12, they have the tie breakers over TCU and OU now. So if they can win out they will be in the B12 Champ game, as a 2 loss team they are not in the convesation for the playoffs no matter what they do but still what an achievement for them to play for the B12 Championship.

Stanford at Wash State ...Stanford not in the playoff conversation nor is Wazzu, but it's a huge game for them. They are leading the Pac12 N and winning out puts them in a position to win the Pac12.

Oregon at #12 Wash ...Again, Washington in a tough spot because of their non-conf schedule, but to have any hope they need to win out and win the Pac12 and of course the bigger the MOV the better. Oregon is hovering around .500 in Willie Taggerts 1st season but this is a big rivalry game for them so who knows.

#22 Arizona at #17 USC ... this one is about the Pac12 S, neither has a chance at the playoffs. But holy cow if you haven't seen AZ QB Kahlil Tate you've missed maybe the most dynamic QB in the country. This kid is electric. I expect this to be a big time shootout in L.A. Might be the best game of the day for fun to watch.

I see Malik Zaire was named the starter for the Gators vs Missouri. I hope he has a great game, I decided that was enough to make me take the Gators in the contest!! :)

But I have to say seeing him in the Fla colors is very strange.

T - Both Stanford and Wazzu control their own destiny. The winner could then win out and be the P12 Champ.

Lol, no you've been holding back on me Terry....You realize that your x-factor improves if you root for them two weeks in a row, great karma...

Irish-Cane tickets are up to $150 each with $300 plus if they beat V tech this weekend. This is not much compared to everyone else but it's amazing because it's a rarity for home games in the past 15 years...

Utes are up on UCLA who is without Rosen.

I see that a USC player laid out a Wazzu fan who was storming the field and the police are trying to get a felony charge against him. The fan reportedly suffered a concussion.

Can anybody get the Pac12 network? It's not on directv so I only see Pac12 games that are on FS1 or ESPN or a major network.

Ralph do they expect a sellout for the Irish?

Buckeyes are in corn country for their 3:30 game with the Hawkeyes on ESPN.This is no time for a letdown on the road. We are favored by 17 points, but somehow that does not make me feel too comfortable. Just win baby, win!

    GO Bucks!

The Kinnick Curse is working overtime today. Iowa is manhandling and mauling OSU. I am beyond stunned.

Penn State goes down to the Spartans. The Buckeyes didn't just fall for a curse they got manhandled. 55 points on a very good defense by a team with out a good offense coming into the game.

Maybe defense is out today, Irish had there worst defensive effort of the season. And down in Oklahoma there is no defense being played might be the highest scoring game of the year.

To say the Buckeyes were manhandled is beyond my comprehension, downright embarrassing. Iowa came to play and play they did. Big Ten race is now a whole new ball game with all kinds of possibilities!

Well Ralph barring a big collapse the Hurricanes will remain undefeated! It will be the Prime Time game next weekend, big game big crowd no doubt. Glad it's not the old Orange Bowl. The renovated new stadium looks great.

Don I just can't believe your defense gave up all those points.

If I can make it I am going to watch Kahlil Tate and USC.

You should be Ralph, your Canes looked really good tonight especially the defense. If ND had a defense today, I didn't see it.

Well so far the Kahlil Tate show hasn't shown up yet. Az only has 3 points.

Not the performance I was looking to see, but I'm ok because tonight I am rooting for USC then I'll take a shower scrubbing down with lye to get the stank off of me.

Actually a good day for Irish fans.

    1. We win
    2. NC State plays a really good game and had a chance to take Clemson to OT.
    3. Miami keeps winning to set up a huge game
    4. Ohio State and Penn State a couple of the 1 loss teams chasing us lost today.
    5. Only bad result was Stanford lost, not that I like Stanford but for strength of schedule purposes it would make our resume stronger if they had won and still had a path to the Pac12 Championship.

    Of the top Heisman Candidates..

Tate has been a no show at USC
Barkley only had 66 yds rushing in the PSU loss
Love only 69 yds rushing in the Stanford loss
JT Barnett had 3 picks in the Ohio State loss
Josh Adams only played a portion of the 1st qtr in the Irish win.

Baker Mayfield almost 600 yds passing and 5 TD's ..in the OU win.

    Advantage Baker Mayfield.

Oh yeah, Texas....our offense stinks, but our defense can play. TCU got the win, wore us down eventually. But TCU offense really doesn't look good enough to win out, esp when they have to go to Norman next week to play the Sooners. TCU defense is pretty good but Baker Mayfield is going to be too much, I think.
