This Texas/TCU game has been all defense so far, TCU has made one play on offense that got them into FG range but they missed it. In the first qtr Texas has very few yards, Ewers had 0 yds passing and had a net 6 yards running. TCU had a net of -13 yds running and 37 yds passing, most coming on 1 play.

    0-0 after 1 qtr.

Fewest combined yards of any game in college football this year. Texas/TCU

Still a defensive battle in Austin, Max Duggan has had hardly any time to work with. Quinn Ewers has had some big drops and also made his share of bad throws.

Not watching Oregon/Washington but looking at the stats both QB's Bo Nix and Washington's Michael Penix are having good games and it's tight with Oregon up 31-27

Wow after I posted the previous, TCU got a big TD run by Kendric Miller who is a 1000 yd back. He ripped off 75 yds. TCU now up 10-0, which given the Texas offense tonight seems insurmountable. But still a lot of football to play

Longhorns actually put together a drive but fail to finish it, and settle for a FG, 10-3. Then they have TCU punting on he next series and rough the punter and then leave the Top TCU receiver wide open with a mix up in the DB and he gets an easy 30+yd TD score. 17-3 TCU.

I don't think there is enough time left for Texas to overcome that unless we also get some big plays for a TD along with stoning the TCU offense

1st and goal at the 5, and end up facing 4th and 10 which failed and TCU takes over. Ewers has made some good throws but a lot more that aren't.

I just don't know what pass interference is anymore. 4th down play looked like TCU pass interference but it wasn't and Texas turns over the ball on downs on our own 38. No hope now. I really thought coming into this game we would win, I certainly didn't see a big defensive struggle breaking out. TCU made 2 big plays and that was the real difference. Under 5 minutes to go, it's over.

Color me Burnt Orange....Max Duggan fumbles and Texas picks it up and gets a scoop and score...17-10 and it's all different now. We go from TCU just running clock and Texas not having anything left ..and now there is hope.

Hope turned to No Hope....TCU ran out the clock and win 17-10. Come into Austin a 7 point underdog and win for the 5th time in their last 6 visits. I admire Max Duggan and I like Sonny Dykes but I just don't think they can win out, going to Baylor next week, a better than their record Iowa State and then a likely rematch with KState. Win them all and they are in, lose even 1 even a close one and Tenn slips past them

I see the Bo Nix revival tour ran out of gas tonight, Bo had a good game, but Michael Penix had a phenominal game over f400 yards passing.

Michigan is looking to me like the #2 team in the country, if for no other reason than their top RB is healthy and really playing well. Ohio State has injury issues with both their top RB's. I won't be shocked if Vegas installs Michigan as the favorite on the road.

Just checked on the A&M game and I see they lost. I'm surprised, I really thought with Weigman back at QB they would handle Auburn. But the A&M offense barely got 200 yds while Auburn ran for 270yds. I doubt if Scott will be surprised at the A&M run defense even against Auburn.

Fortunately the Aggies welcome UMass to Kyle next weekend so the streak will end. UMass is 1-9 only win is vs Stoney Brook.

Big upset in the PAC12, UCLA lost at home to a bad Arizona team. It narrows the field at the top of the Pac12, that loss to Washington was Oregon's first so they are tied now with USC and Utah. They have Utah next week, while USC has UCLA.

In other news, NU's Womens Bowling team has started their new season in pursuit of a record 7th NC, and trying for their 2nd back to back after winning last years NC. (SIGH)...

If TCU wins out they will be in the NC playoffs.

The way I see the 4 teams, Georgia is in, winner of Ohio State and Michigan is in, if TCU wins out they are in. In that scenario the 4th team will be either Tennessee or Michigan. Could be either.

If TCU would lose it could be an all SEC - Big 10 finals.

I watched the end of this game. On the one hand, his throwing bombs at the end was understandable. You're backup QB needs real game experience too, but not taking a knee with a minute to go and going for the td is pretty bad. On the other hand, Missouri would have tried to score until the last second so why shouldn't Tennessee? Maybe it will help with the committee but coaches have long memories. Payback down the road could be in the cards too!
