Well it's underway all across the country, your favorite team is back on the field getting ready for the Labor Day weekend games. In the case of Miami and Florida, for the week before Labor Day.

Texas expects to start off where it left off, beating a good SEC team in Georgia. But it won't be the same Longhorn defense. They lost 8 guys. Now there is some talent to fill in those slots, but till we see them as starters we won't know. That's where Alabama has the edge, they have recruited so well across the board, that they are replacing players like everybody else, but they have a very high caliber of backup players ready to have their chance at being a star. Longhorns not quite in Alabama's class when it comes to depth, not yet at least. Like a lot of programs it's QB depth that will be the issue. It's Sam Ehlinger or bust this year, neither of his backups have any real experience and one of them is a true freshman. If Sam can stay healthy the offense should be very good.

I see a lot about the University of Houston and they also have a very good starting QB in D'Eriq King who is absolutely dynamic running and throwing, but he couldn't finish last season due to injuries. It's imperative that he stay injury free this year. Holgerson is getting lots of pretty good press, saying all the right things. Hopes are high that the Cougars have finally found not only a good coach but one who is not looking to build a resume' for a Power 5 job.

Justin Fields says he has made a get deal of progress since the Spring game. That is very comforting to know. I hope we can just get by Florida Atlantic to start the season!:(

What is the backup plan if Fields gets injured? Is there a QB on the roster who you'd feel like could take over and guide you to a very good season?

Fields has never played more than a couple of plays at a time. This is a big question.

Right on Kp! He is going to be under tremendous pressure by the OSU fan base.

Everybody seems to have an alternate uniform they use once a year for some special game. The Irish have their Shamrock Series uniforms, which fans either love or hate. How about this one for this years Mich State team.

I'm surprised that SI chose Jake Fromm over Tua for the South East cover. Should be some motivation for Tua, not that he needs any.

Terry, Saban probably appreciates the antidote for the Rat poison. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure he is tickled that Clemson is the preseason #1

I see the injury bug has bitten the Gators, losing one of their starters at DB for the season.

Our DB who tore his achilles only had 16 tackles last year.

He was expected to provide solid depth this year more than be a star.

Don't want to lose anyone else back there to be sure.

The article I read indicated that your DB's are thin right now, transfer, player not available because he choked his tutor during a session, and injuries.

Dabo in the news, he's not sending Kelly Bryant a Nat'l Championship ring. He also takes umbrage at any effort to imply that the Tide were worn down by the tough SEC schedule as to why Clemson handled them in the CFP

Dabo not buying that SEC grind wore out Bama
