Supposedly there was wooden decking under the metal on some of the older ships that under went work in the yards over the years. Sea duty is inherently dangerous. Add flight operations on carriers and it is really dangerous. There are times when you go on the flight deck at night that you literally cannot see anything. No points of reference at all. Awesome but scary.

Looks like the Longhorns are going to take down Gonzaga in Austin tonight, up 20 with under 5 to go.

This will be a big win for the Longhorns.

Don, after last Saturday vs. Navy, we Irish are familiar with ugly, difficult-to-watch games where we get the W. ;)

One thing about college basketball, you can be a good team and have a good season and lose 10 games.

Michigan beat the Ohio Bobcats in OT, but this buzzer beater by Ohio to send the game into OT is a play I have never seen before - throwing the ball the length of the court and off the backboard followed by a rebound and put back bucket.

Kenturcky traveled out to Spokane and got beat by Gonzaga.

Seems like most of the top teams are playing good pre-conference teams.

Don, that win by your women's basketball over Tenn has really propelled them upwards. The Lady Buckeyes are #4 in the latest AP Poll. Zooming past Iowa and IU.

Everyone is healthily for a change and that really helps. Their defense is on a roll and we are scoring nearly 100 points per game.

Ohio State loses to SDS 88-77 in Maui Invitational game. We had a very cold start in the game, unable to make baskets and never fully recovered. Outplayed in all major categories.

I wonder how many transfers SDSU has, it's really changing the whole landscape of college basketball, even more so than football.

I know when the Irish played Lipscomb their team was mostly transfers, it's the new way to build a team.

It''s my understanding that all of the players from last year are with the team for the current season.

Buckeyes finally get their act together tonight and defeat the Cincinnati Bearcats 81-53 in MauiI Invitational. Four players in double figures and only six turnovers. At least something to build on for the coming Big Ten season. We will advance to play Texas Tech Wednesday.

Buckeyes defeat TCU in Maui Tournament this afternoon 80-73 for 5th place. We finally have really shown what we can do with this group of players.

Purdue gets a nice win over W Va and our reward was to get to play Gonzaga. A very convincing win over the Zags late last night and now our reward is....Duke on Sunday. :)
