Number 1 Tax write off went complete game, 2-hit shutout with a 4 to 1 strike to ball ratio. Walked 2, fanned 10, 1 on base with error. 0-2 at the plate. Can of Corn pop fly and a S/O. He's grounded till next game for that. It's great to be a dad. Strike that. It's great to be a dad of CORNHUSKERS...
You were right the first time, it's great to be a dad, Hisker or otherwise. Hey the kid can hit a golf ball a mile also!
Good deal! It sounds like he's got lots of ability and I am glad he's harnessing it already. Last night Carson went 1-3. He actually doubled in his first AB but the runner left too soon, so they brought him back. Worse than that, they also awarded a strike to the pitcher (that is wrong, you pick the pitch, play or dead ball. you don't get 2 out of 3). He took the swung and missed at the next pitch and was struck out. I still don't think he understands it. Hell, Im 39 and know the rule book cover to cover and I still barely understand how the ump got snookered like that. His next AB he gapped it for a hit. In his 3rd, he absolutely smoked the ball but hit a linedrive right to the SS. Watching Carson's team is frustrating. They are easily the most talented team in the league (they are in 1st place) but they play Mickey Mouse baseball with lots of running gimmicks and base stealing plays. They run themselves out of more innings than they benefit from with that stuff. They will win the league, probably the league and city tournament but they will lose in the area tournament when they run into a team that can play real defense. How much longer do you guys have in the season?
