I don't know if this has been posted but now coaches who up to now could only snarl and rant at the refs can now challenge the rulings. (Shall we call it the LLLLoyd rule?)
So what's the rule, 1 challenge for the game or 1 for each half. I think coaches should get to challenge any ruling they want and have no limit. So what if games go to 6 hours! I hope they don't leave it up to the home team, if they do then Pete Carroll won't let it happen in the ND/USC game in LA. Terry
The single most important play in the Tenn-Fla game last year came late in the 1st half with the game still very much contested and both teams punching the other hard but no damage was being done of note. Then, Tenn threw a pass down inside the UF one yard line for an apparent 1st down and they were not going to even review it even though all those in the endzone area where it occurred (where I was sitting) loudly complained about how it was an incomplete pass. Then...Urban in a very non-Zook like move decided to voice his own coaches challenge and ran out onto the field and in the direction of where Tenn was already lining up for a go ahead score and the refs couldn't help but stop the play and finally agreed to a review....which overturned the play. Tenn. wound up missing a FG and Meyer's "challenge" was a key to the UF win.
