Clock Management

    I've never been a coach, but every weekend I see supposed experienced coaches totally screw up clock management, both in College and the NFL. I see teams take timeouts, then coming out of the timeout they don't get the play off and have to take another TO or they get a delay of game penalty.

    I see coaches piss away clock when they have no clock to piss away. Sometimes they let 20 secs run off when they should have called a time out immediately.

    It's very frustrating as a fan and you have to wonder why so many of these guys just can't manage the clock. Is it that hard?

    One wouldn't think so Terry, but the evidence seems to say yes.

    I can't explain it.

    Herm Edwards was the king of poor clock management. I saw several drives when he was with the Jets die in the red zone with TOs left. A couple were inside the 5.
