The Gators are doing what you would expect and getting the top recruits in Florida:

After last year's banner crop it looks like Meyer is building the powerhouse at Florida that all Gator fans hoped he would with yet another top class.

Meyer couldn't have come along at any better time. With F$U having been an offensive wasteland for a few years now, and the mess down in Coral Gables it's no surprise that the Gators are doing terrific in recruiting.

I think Tenn hasn't been doing as well either and Bama is struggling some.

If Meyer couldn't clean up in that environment he is overrated as a recruiter.

I think that Meyer showed when he first came on board that he could recruit angainst anyone. He came in after the bowl games and got a very good class, then last year made a really big haul.

Yes the Miami and FSU situations help, and help a lot, however Meyer has proved he can recruit period.

I don't know how long those two programs stay down. I would say not long, but each have some problems that may hinder a fast recovery.

By all accounts Miami will be looking for a new coach come the end of the season. And I don't think they can pay the $$$$ that some other programs can pay.

And at FSU I think Bowden's age has become an issue with recruiting. I know a lot of people think that he should be able to go out on his own terms whenever he chooses. However I think that someone who has accomplished what he has should think about what he is leaving behind. And following a legend is not easy.

Right now the Gators are in charge in Florida, and even during Spurrier's best years we couldn't say that.
