Interesting turn of events. Noles say he was given his release from his commit by their new oline coach. A big, talented man .... so glad he's not a nole. I think this is ND's 4th or 5th oline commit for 2007. That makes 10 or so in two years and a couple of big TEs as I recall. Maybe Nwankwo will reconsider and decide he wants to be a Gator?
He was supposedly a "silent" Notre Dame commit for about a month and then up and committed to FSU, shocked everybody at ND who follows recruiting. I am not sure what it means to get a release from your commit, since it's just a verbal and means nothing till you sign on the dotted line and fax it in to the school of your choice. But he is a big kid, I welcome him to the Irish family. Charlie is quickly rebuilding the OL. Tyrone left him with virtually nothing, there was 1 year that he only signed 1 OL. Now about that defense....we need some playa's there pronto!!
Terry By "release" ..... I mean to indiucate some nole fans are explaining Little's change by stating he was told to go elsewhere (wasn't wanted) by the new o-line coash at fsu, for whatever reason.
Always... <t>Happy to get a kid this highly rated and has the grades. When I first saw him in the NBC game standing there it was like WOW.<br/> <br/> I wish we had a couple like this fall to us on the defensive side of the ball.</t>
8) They're kids and they're getting pressure from every direction... Charlie's OLs are now off the chart. The Irish have HSAAs two-deep in the frosh and soph classes. Its to the point where they can start putting some of them at DT if the regular DTs don't come...
 Florida State had nothing to do with his decision. Here's the truth from ESPN... National signing day might be tops for finding out where top undecided prospects will be headed, but the annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl ranks as a close second. This year, eight prospects made their college intentions known during the game, and three others confirmed commitments leaked the previous day. Like other commitments made throughout the year on national television, the great thing about these declarations is that they come straight from the kid's mouth; there is no rumor, no innuendo, just a kid putting on a baseball cap and saying he's thrilled to be going to (blank). Plus, the declarations come a month before signing day, so they should be pretty solid. Or so one would think. But for the second year in a row, a top prospect quickly took back one of those declarations and changed his mind. Last year, No. 1-ranked CB Jai Eugene announced for Michigan during the game only to change his mind and sign with in-state LSU. This year, No. 14 OT Chris Little (Jeffersonville, Ga./Twiggs County) announced for Florida State during the game only to switch to Notre Dame. Blame this change of heart on family miscommunication. Little thought his mother wanted him to stay close to home and go to Florida State, but he found out on the plane ride home from San Antonio that her first choice was, indeed, Notre Dame. After a few days of deliberation, Little conceded to his mother's wishes. "Of course, [Notre Dame] said yes, they wanted to take him, and we were ecstatic about that," his coach Dexter Copeland, who was also on the famed plane ride, told the South Bend Tribune. "We got everything cleared up, and he's going to Notre Dame and everybody's excited."
