A guy from Rivals was on my morning drive time sports talking about the developing scandal with Oregon, Chip Kelly and a Texas Recruiting Scout named Willie Lyles who delivered LaMichael James to Oregon and a few others.

The Rivals guy said that Chip Kelly could be in deep trouble with NCAA.

    Oregon Scandal

With all the money that is in college football now and the big money futures these kids see in the NFL it's going to get worse before it gets better. It's more and more common for kids, esp black kids, to have family friends, relatives or their parent (certain QB from Auburn) acting like agents for them seeking the "best" deal and some money as a finders fee or something like that. I'm sure that from their side of the situation they see thier kid as making a lot of money for the school and deserving something for it. From the schools side of things (unfortuneately) there is more and more pressure to have success on the field and with all the big dollar contracts they have the money to build facilities, pay coaches millions, expand stadiums, etc. Winning is more important than ever and with it will come more coaches/schools taking chances to get the talent that is needed for the program to be successful.

No surprise. There have been rumors about Chip Kelly and his program for awhile around here. Even USC has been complaining.

Oregon was the 2nd losingest program of all-time (behind K-State) until very recently. In the last round of recruiting, they were getting local kids from right under the noses of Kiffin and Neuheisel. The last straw was when DeAnthony Thomas, USC's #1 recruit and an early commit, was poached by Oregon on signing day. There's no record of this kid ever visiting Oregon or even receiving a letter. Something happened.

I suspect that when the dust clears, you'll find Kiffin and USC behind at least some of the information that investigators have received. They do it to UCLA all the time...
