    Wow.

    I don't like the whole super conference/playoff game set-up. I do like the idea of a ten-team conference in which every team plays every other team every year, with non-cons filling the remaining slots.

    look what the BCS has given you

    <t>only conferences that were strong enough to survive beforehand have benefited from this system (SEC/Big8) by going the 'super conference' route.<br/>
    <br/>
    This sucks.<br/>
    <br/>
    Its a scam and people continue to drop dimes in the juke to play the same sad song over and over again.</t>

    I'll come in on the other side, and say I like... or I would if ALL the major conferences did it.

    The BCS could/should make it a rule that only conference champs can play for the title, and we'd be very close to a playoff.

    You'd have to win a first round to play for the title...

    The folks in the ACC don't go to any sporting event that is not conducted indoors, with a round ball and usually involves Duke or UNC. All other sports are intramural. Va. Tech? Boston College? Aren't they in the Big East? :wink:

    Jacksonville is SEC country.

    The game should be in Charlotte which is ACC country and where the year round denizens would support it much better.

    Houston is technically B12 country, but the couple of times that we have hosted the B12 Championship game it was less than a rousing success. Nothing nearly as bad as that picture of the ACC game, but I don't believe it's ever sold out.

    Don't worry Terry, Jerry Jones will soon remove Houston from the equation.

    Looks like the Battlestar Galactica. Are those Vipers ready to enter the hangar on the lower left?

    ....that is sad. Any major program in this country be they SEC, Big 10, Big 12, whatever, has better crowds at their SPRING INTRA-SQUAD. What's up with that?

    Ha! That's right Alabama had 93000 at their spring scrimmage!

    What other program drew twice as many fans to their spring scrimmage as the amount of seats in the bowl game for which they are headed?

    None! What was the attendance at the ACC championship game anyway? was it at least 25% of Bama's spring game?

    With the way MCG talks about the ACC refs, one would think that next year will have a few fixes in the works to get better traveling teams to the top! :shock:

    I disagree Scott

    <t>this thing about a 'title game' is garbage.<br/>
    <br/>
    Why would the Pac10 need to play a conference title game? They play a true round robin. With the addition of the extra game to the schedule, the Pac10 added the extra conference game so there are no more schedules in which you miss a potential heavyweight. Everyone plays everyone.<br/>
    <br/>
    Why play a conference title game? That's what the season is for....</t>

    I am neither a fan nor a proponent of conference title games, but based on the Pac10 situation Corey describes above, why would there be a need for an extra game? There is none. IMO, a deserving Pac10 conference champ should be on equal footing with the champs of all the other major conferences, including the Big 10, extra games or not.

    Having said that, I repeat that USC does not deserve to be in the final game this year.

    I think the ACC is a conference that is suffering growing pains. When the conference expanded most people thought the championship would be between Miami and FSU in most years (which would draw a lot more people to Jacksonville I might add). Virginia Tech and Boston College have turned out to be better additions to that conference than Miami. Who would have thought that five years ago? Such is the cyclical nature of college football and the big dogs will be on top again, probably sooner than most of us think or would like to hope. It's funny to me how much interest a team you love to hate can inspire amongst sports fans and the ACC doesn't have that right now.

    <t>that has been my point all along. The Pac10 has been 'dismissed' to a lower-tier of the BcS because they don't have a title game and there just isn't any need for one. <br/>
    <br/>
    The media has made little, or no, reference to that fact. They actually kept beating the drum that the winners of conferences like the SEC/Big12/ACC should go AHEAD of them because they play the 'extra game.'<br/>
    <br/>
    Its just nonsense.<br/>
    <br/>
    Im not sure if they are ignorant or not, but they aren't reporting the truth.</t>
