This blog from CFN actually has a lot of statements that I agree with. When you look at what the Big Ten accomplished last season non-conference wise it's not great. When you look at the NC game......well....it's not great. But when you look at teams 3 through 5 they have been competitive in bowl games and there is potential. I agree with the writer that the Big Ten needs some week in/week out consistency to get better as a league. Michigan State is a perfect example of a Big Ten team that might rise up and beat a top 10 ten team one week but then lose to a bad team the next. This coming season could go either way for the Big Ten. The keys to the season for the league are the development of Michigan under a new regime and the continued development of Illinois and then certainly the fulfillment of expectations by Wisconsin.
