-He may try cutting weight down to 190 or 185 to wrestle in those classes. He's finding that the more in shape he's getting and the stronger he's getting, the more weight he's losing. He's here his weekend and he's getting pretty jacked. -He's joined the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. It appears they are the most selective of the frats, and they had put in a 'dirty bid' for him. He was initially going to try to join Sigma Nu, but was then approached by Lambda Chi and he's been with them since. Sunday is the day he gets his pin, big brother and sworn into the frat. -He joined the Black Student Union. -The senior heavyweight gave the team this big speech about unity, and family, then proceeded to try to pick fights with several members of the team. When it came Carson's turn, the guy cheap shot him and shoved him out these two service doors. (it's very close quarters in the wrestling gym for training). Unlike the other guys who had just stood there and got pushed around, Carson came running back into the building after him. This is probably the time to tell you that Carson is also trained to fight in the martial arts and doesn't take that from anyone. He got to the guy who kept pushing him away or trying to keep him at arm's length. Carson was trying to shoot his legs and take him to the ground. When Carson shot him, the coach broke it up and Carson just waved his hands in disgust at the guy. There's been no more attempts to pick on Carson. -He's home for the long weekend and his little sister has been attached to his hip. It's adorable how much those two miss each other despite the age difference.

hahaha every school on every campus has a black student union. It's basically the place for black kids to have their own group to discuss black issues and help in the black community. Carson joined that. They love him apparently. There's one other white member of the black student union and he's the President of the campus Democrats. He's got a lot of interesting ideas on how to help the black community in this state, especially across the black belt where they are typically disenfranchised by the white voters (once democrat, now republican). He has a pretty sweet inroad to an internship with a Senator thru his grandmother that hopefully he takes advantage of, but really, like a lot of kids his age, he's seeing the world for the first time through his eyes and trying to find his nitch.
Sounds like he's adapted to college very well. Midterms are done and he's on the home stretch for finals and having a semester under his belt.
