For those who might be interested in Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde and an alledged assult of a female in a local bar. http://buckeyextra.dispatch.com/content/stories/2013/07/22/0722-carlos-hyde-ohio-state-football.html Unfortunately starting CB Roby has been arrested in Indiana also over the weekend. Great way to start the football season for the buckeyes.
Hyde was being counted on to take a lot of the running load off of Braxton Miller, do you have some depth at his position?
Terry, Yes we have some depth at tailback, but Hyde was the cream of the crop. I think the dismissal is a temporary thing depending on the outcome of the charges.
I know there is a lot of controversy about the loss of privacy due to so many video cameras everywhere we go....but Carlos Hyde can thank the video camera. The video of him at the bar showed that the chick hit him and he walked away, that he did not hit her. Carlos Hyde exonerated
This is why we all need to wait. Hopefully the school officials have the player's side of the story and take into account his credibility. The coach establishes his own credibility over time as well.
I feel like I owe him an apology, I never doubted that he hit the chick. Sort of like that Gator LB is owed an apology by the Cops who arrested him. After watching the video, they were way out of line. I hope the chick who hit him and then reported him for the assault gets in serious trouble.
"I hope the chick who hit him and then reported him for the assault gets in serious trouble." Me too....
Dave & KP, I think Meyer is caught in a hard spot and reacted accordingly. If these players would only stay away from bars, but I suppose that is asking too much of 18 or 19 years olds?
Obviously Meyer is acting selfishly here and trying to make himeself look good..... or so the pundits will say I'm sure. Actually? I think Meyer is trying to drive home the point to his players that hanging out in bars will possibly get you in trouble.... with him.... if not the law.
What are 18 and 19 y/o's doing in a bar anyway? A lot of bars here don't allow anybody under 21 in the first place. Exceptions are if they are really a restaurant with a bar area. But if they are strictly a bar no go for under 21 and a lot of clubs are like that as well to much trouble to try and make sure nobody is serving or buying and then sneaking it to the under 21 kid.
I believe Don and Terry nailed it. He wants to send a message to his under-21 athletes to avoid being illegally in a bar.
I need to amend my post on Carlos Hyde. He is a senior and I presume at least 21 yrs of age. Myer said he should have walked away and I whole heartily agree. Thus the three game suspension.
