Talked to AJ earlier today, and he was hoping for a win tonight in front of the home fans. I'll bet he's a happy Husker right now!! Finally NL gets the Win. This is the Cardinals 10th World Series win only 1 team has more World Series wins!! Congrats to all the Cardinals fans on the Skybox!! Terry
And Eckstein is the MVP! Go Gators!! I bet Husky, with his deep down secret fondness for the Gators, is comforted to know he has a Gator there to anchor his team! Congrats Cards!!
Congrats to the Cards and their fans. I'm eating crow this morning ... as Jeff Weaver's biggest critic let me be the first to say he came up big this year.
Congrats to Tony La Russa and his staff. They were ready and prepared to win. Congrats too to Cards fans. And as to the Tigers, my hats off to you Sean Casey, your back just wasn't strong enough to carry all the deadweight your teammates turned out to be. In the end they are no longer playiing, not because they didn't hit the dramatic home run or make the diving catch. They are done because they couldn't make simple basic plays that you can see on high school baseball AND SOFTBALL fields accross the country.
Congratulations, Cardinal fans. I enjoyed the series, but felt bad for Detroit. I figured they'd win in 5 or 6, given their ptching and the series starting in Comerica Park. Too many errors, though. They just beat themselves. Lot of youth on that team, though. If they stay together... And who'd a thunk Jeff Weaver would have to leave the Yankees to win a World Series?
To say... <t>The least I am basking in the glow today. Went to bed about 2:00 last night after watching the replays numerous times. Proud lifelong Cardinal fan today. Thanks for the classy congrats.<br/> Weaver was sick last night with his out pitches. Dave Duncan did a great job with him. The last guy I wanted up at the end was Inge but Wainright blew him away to set off the frenzy in the new Busch. I guess besides winning the title that was the thing I wanted most was for the great St.Louis fans to celebrate at home.<br/> <br/> Man what a season.</t>
 Congrats to all Card fans everywhere. In the end, the young Tigers just weren't ready for prime time. I can't honestly say that I'm surprised by the St. Louis pitching performance though. They beat my Dodgers in every single game they played this year and the difference was starting pitching every time. We need to get some of that...
JO'Co.... <t>I still cannot get over Weaver. I watched the game again Saturday on my DVR (greatest TV invention to date) and this guy came with stuff as good as I saw all year and I have MLB extra so I watch it all. I guess its what makes the game so special as there are performances like this that make baseball history. I hope the Cards re-sign him to a reasonable contract and he keeps focused to help them next year.<br/> <br/> Isn't pitching always the key? LOL !!<br/> <br/> Basking in the glow in Houston.</t>
8) In his career, Jeff Weaver has pitched very well for the Tigers, Dodgers and Cardinals, but very poorly for the Yankees and Angels. He needs to just stay in one place where he's comfortable and listen to his coaches instead of his agent...
