...in the current field who have won their first round game in the last 5 consecutive years??? I'll give ya one: Pitt and the other is: THE FIGHTIN' TEXAS AGGIES! How's that for a football school?
Who will go deeper Scott: Tennessee or Texas A&M? I have us losing in round two to Georgetown, who was knocked out by 14th seeded Ohio. I feel better about Tennessee beating the giant killers than the actual giant but not good enough to say we will win in round two. I have you beating 4th seeded Purdue. Can you pull it out?
Thanks Terry! I'm a happy camper! Good question Tom, and I'd love for us both to not know for quite a while! I really don't know. We've got a much tougher test coming with Purdue. After that it will probably be number one seed Duke. BUT... that game would be in Houston which will be solid maroon. If we can get there, I like our chances. I'm just enjoying the ride. It sure was sweet to watch that CBS/SI guy have to eat crow after picking Utah St to upset us. 8)
On ESPN Radio yesterday afternoon they had their fantasy guy on and he said that at that time there were only 3 perfect brackets left out of 4.8 million entries. The one thing all 3 had in common was they picked Utah State to upset A&M. He said if A&M won that it would be the earliest that the contest had lost all it's perfect brackets. So I guess there are no more perfect brackets!!
Well, Tennessee held up its end by winning over Ohio. Now go out and beat Purdue so we can both get whipped by the #1 seed in our respective regions. :?
We are the four seed that nobody expects to make the sweet sixteen. All the talking heads picked Siena to "upset " us and will be no different against the Aggies. Good luck, tomorrow, Scott.
... and I forgot that we wouldn't see the #1 seed until getting to the elite 8. Next for Tennessee is the Buckeyes. I do not expect to get past Ohio State.
Thanks Stu... ditto. I know how you feel. A lot of folks picked us for the dreaded 5/12 upset. Sounds like your boys play the same style as mine. It should be one of the better games tomorrow.
I hear you Don. There have been a lot of upsets but I don't think that game will be one of them. Good luck and hope to see a good game between our teams.
Congrats Stu! Your boys really worked hard, and deserved the win. The Aggies had their chances, just couldn't get them to fall. Hope the Boilers go far!
