    Pretty ridiculous isn't it. Yet according to that article the voters overwhelmingly approved the bond issue.

    Nah! idiots in North Texas...almost to Oklahoma can't come in out of the rain!! :)

    Allen has to be some where close to Scott88's territory. He lives on the Okie side of Dallas I believe.

    I realize high school football in Texas is big business, but that article blew my mind.

    I can't imagine anyone in Ohio voting for that type of bond issue!

    I don't have a problem with it. The community voted and approved it by a 2-1 margin. End of story. The community obviously has a very strong tax base and can afford the debt service. As the article says, the project has no bearing whatsoever on the funds available for education because the operating (education) and debt service funds are separated by law. I agree it's a bit over the top, but with the size of the school (5,000 students, twice the size of most large high schools in other states) and the 365-day/year usability because of field turf, it looks like a viable long-term investment for the community. Plus, it's "only" the third largest HS stadium in the state.
