I'm not totally suprised, he's probably been informed that it will be stripped and probably figured he'd get out ahead of the deal and try to salvage something. What I'm more suprised at is that Vince Young said he'd take it. I don't think I'd want it myself, it's forever tainted IMHO. Bush
Look at it this way, he's screwed the players, students, coaches, and fans of the USC football program. He'll probably be costing the school millions in bowl revenue. They're going to be paying for years for his wrongs. The least he can do is hand over the hardware. Hell, Nike will probably work it into their next commercial with Reggie.
8) Bush said that he "didn't want to diminish the prestige of the Heisman Trophy." Uh...you mean the same Heisman that was won by fellow USC players O.J. Simpson and Charles White?
So if Reggie wasn't eligible than can Brady Quinn how have his invite to award ceremony. Oh wait....it's a little late. Well at least he can have a little laugh about the slight.
Another thought from my conspiracy warped mind. Is it possible that SC put pressure on Bush, hoping to use his contrition in their appeal with the NCAA. The school and Reggie both returned the hardware. Now they're looking for mercy.
