It will be announced at a news conference today at noon Eastern. So much for Tennessee Men's Basketball. Any ideas where we can get a good coach?
Now that the news has settled into my mind, I can provide a few more details. But please, don't spread beyond this board. We don't have enough here to matter that much. Retired Air force General George Edwards spends all of Football and Basketball season following the Vols around the country. He resides in Austin where he was the commander of the now closed air force base in Austin. Nothing that this man has told us has ever been wrong. The cameras at any aired Lady Vols basketball game will find him within about 10 feet behind Pat Summitt. This insider’s information is like gold. Pat told George after the Monday practice yesterday that Pearl is leaving. Cindy and I were one of 15 people that George told through e-mail: For privacy, I deleted his e-mail ID.
That's too bad Tom, I'm sure most if not all Tenn fans are pretty shocked. Even given his Midwest ties, I would have thought being a coach in the SEC and with the commitment that Tenn has likely given him for mens basketball his future had to be very bright with the Vols. At IU he's going to have to deal with probation, the possibility of transfers, and high expectations. Could be a rough start.
Tom, If this information turns out to be factual, it would be a big surprise to me. As Terry mention, there are currently some negatives and big question marks in the Hoosier program. Eric Gordon will be leaving for the NBA. Pearl is an excellent coach and basketball rules at Indiana, but is that enough to make it a good move? Don

Worked last night and just now going to bed... if I can get this huge grin off my face! The truthful facts are that he is staying at Tennessee. Hear the audio from the Dan Patrick interview.
YOuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Dirty Rat!! BTW, there is a Mike Brey to IU thread today on ND boards. I suspect April fools as well!!
Ha ha! Good one. I did not say a thing up here because I thought it strange that it would happen so quickly without a hint of something from the media either in Indiana or Tennessee. I was leery, BUT I did not suspect an April Fool's joke.
I have to admit, Tom, you really had me going. Between the local talk radio station, an article I found, and you I was kissing Pearl goodbye. This must be a conspiracy within Big Orange Nation to pull of the biggest April Fool's Joke ever. I'm still reeling. Here is a link to the article that I found. http://www.fulmersbelly.com/?p=645 Needless to say, I'm a bit relieved now. I never thought of myself as being that gullible really but I've been hit on all sides with this one.
Lots of April Fool jokesters out there: http://www.sbrforum.com/Free+Picks/NCAAB/7395/breaking-indiana-hoosiers-rehire-bobby-knight.aspx I think Pat Summit should coach 'em.
No joke, Sean Sutton is out at Oklahoma State. I bet Pat Knight doesn't last any longer at Texas Tech either.
Only 40 million? I'm surprised he'll work so cheap. I will credit him with helping my golf game, I now have regular injections of lidocaine and B12 and I'm hitting the ball further than ever.
