In deference to a new USC recruit's mangled spelling of USC's mascot moniker I give you this article which brings up the interesting possiblity of a USC-Fla title tilt in the very near future: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/stewart_mandel/02/03/signing-day/index.html I doubt Laney boy makes it that far though....seriously. My favorite comment from the article: "Florida's defensive haul included Rivals.com's No. 1 (Powell), No. 3 (Floyd) and No. 7 (Easley) overall prospects, as well as five-star defensive back Matt Elam and eight other four-star defenders. Longtime recruiting analyst Tom Lemming called it "the best defensive group I've seen put together" in the New York Times."
Everybody else can concede. No need to play the games. Its all over. Seriously Dave, the publicity department at UF will find a spot for you. If you are going to shill non-stop you might as well be paid.
Well let us confide in the great ball... Somebody said previously (Doc?) about how they hated the actions of the kids during the HS AA Army game (tossing the hats and such), and I was thinking the same thing. The message I gathered from most of those kids was style over substance. I envision Primadonna actions and alot of disciplinary issues outa these kids.
I cant stand the theatrics of these kids in recruiting. The hat tricks is a bush league as it gets but not unexpected by teenagers. What is really pathetic are the adults creaming over them. I'll watch reruns of Sally Jessie Raphael before I'll watch a HS all-star game.
I vote for that sentiment... however, if I watch a female hosting any kind of daytime show, it will be Judith Sheindlin. I like how she takes no crap off anyone!
Good that you agree that scheduling a team of USC's caliber out of conference during the regular season would be out of the ordinary. Give credit to teams like Bama and Tennessee for doing so.
I'm not worried what people think of Florida's schedule until it becomes a detriment rather than a plus in the final BCS analysis at the end of the season. This year UF plays at Tenn, at Bama, at FSU and may have Bama in Atlanta for a 2nd go round. Home games with USF, SouCar and LSU highlight a home schedule and then there is always Georgia. It's a tough nut to crack and thankfully there are no away or home games with a USC, Texas, etc. That would be stupid.
Answer: UF = 11.8 (4 in top 10 - #6 in '09, #2 in '08, #3 in '07, #1 in '06) Ala = 36.0 (1 in top 10 - #2 in '09) UT = 28.5 (1 in top 10 - #10 in '06) ND = 43.7 (1 in top 10 #7 in '04) Question: What are the average rankings for difficulty of schedule over the last six seasons?
Good answer Gaterz..... Sometimes I think these guys would rather the Gators play in the Sun Belt Conference as long as we took a trip out west once a year to play UCLA, etc.. That philosophy by your posted info doesn't do all that much for ND and UT on the SOS now does it? UF's scheduling is forever vindicated by 2006 where that was the only thing keeping us from seeing an OSU-UM rematch. Anyway.....BDR is`just doing his usual yanking......
