Well, the Former Purdue Quarterback Bowl Game (LSU-Fla) has been cancelled due to Matthew. Coulda played it in Ross Ade in West Lafayette, except for the sinkhole in our end zone that Terry mentioned. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/water-line-break-at-purdues-stadium-causes-sinkhole-near-end-zone-photos-182401332.html
I wonder what they will do, depending on how the season works out for the teams, not playing it could make a big impact on their bowl prospects and even whether or not they get to the SEC championship game. They don't have a common bye to work with either.
I didn't see this thread before I made my post. Needless to say, LSU is furious. Foley is coming off as a bit of a games man in this situation. The SEC Commish needs to make this game happen.
I've read a lot of scenarios caused by the cancellation of this game and it doesn't really hurt the Gators as much as it does LSU. I'm sitting here watching the "Swamp Bowl" game between the Irish and NC State. Meanwhile several games were pushed back to Sunday and USF played in Tampa today and FSU plays at Miami tonight... I'm scratching my head why UF dug their heels in and canceled the game with no alternative...
A lot of criticism this morning on the XM college sports show. UF was reportedly not willing to negotiate some different venue like coming to LSU or even consider playing on Sunday. Now it's a mess.
Well LSU's AD made it pretty clear that they tried everything including paying for Florida and their entire entourage to play in Baton Rouge but Foley killed everything.. Like I said, the SEC needs to bow up and step in between the sparring children here.
