As far as I'm concerned, it's still a tie ball game pal!! http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2012/10/michigan_ready_to_experience_n.html
My wife is wondering if that Time Warner cable guy from Nebraska is going to call our home at 7:30 A.M. again to tell us that our cable box will be out of commission again this Saturday.
Probably not, as he is even lazier than his male owner when it comes to getting up at a reasonable hour on Saturday morning. Our dachshund was ready to start barking at the world by 7 A.M. Thus guy thinks Good Morning in America should start around 11:30 A.M.
Bobda, So far it looks like if UM wins, it'll be by about 6. If NU wins, then it'll be a squeaker. Michigan 30, Nebraska 24 The Sports Network Michigan 33, Nebraska 27 Ralph D. This is a really cool page. Scroll over the picture to see the panoramic view. http://www.huskermax.com/games/1911/08michigan.html
That's a cool panoramic AJ, I'm always amazed when I see how people dressed for sporting events in the old days. Heck Bobby Jones wore a blazer and a tie when he played golf.
AJ, Hard to predict this game A.J. Michigan has had trouble playing physical teams on the road. I like our defense over yours but Nebraska's offense is more diverse than ours. While Denard is a better runner than Martinez, Martinez is a skilled runner and is passing well this year. While our running backs are mediocre at best, Nebraska's RBs are pretty good. Basically, M's offense rests and falls on Denard. NU's major problem has been, as you pointed out, their self destructive tendencies and lack of discipline. They outgained NW by a 3-1 margin but nearly succeeded in giving away that game. The other thing is how will Michigan respond after an emotional win against MSU. Last year, State thumped us at home and went to Lincoln the following week and were steamrolled in Lincoln. Preview of the game from Mgoblog: http://mgoblog.com/content/preview-nebraska-2012#more
Have you soured on Bo? I was reading the NW BB after the game last week and the Husker fans who posted there, responding to the NW fans bitching about Fitzgerald's play calling, offered to trade Bo to NW for Fitzgerald.
I'm not sure yet Bobda. I think this team started to quit on him, 4th qtr in Columbus. Plus I think he's blaming players when it should be gameplan and coaches.
AJ, Sorry for the late reply but I checked one off the "bucket list" trip on Sunday by traveling to Lambeau Field to see the Packers. Congrats to the Huskers. Given that NU has beaten both M and NW, they are now in the driver's seat in the division. I do not see M beating OSU in Columbus so given the head-to-head tiebreaker, the Huskers would have to lose two games for Michigan to pull ahead of them and I do not see that happening. If Denard's injury is serious and Belomy is our QB the rest of the year, we will be lucky to win another game. The interesting question is who might you play in the champiosnghip game. With Wisconisn QB getting hurt they are a mess and could easily lose upcoming games to Indiana on the road and, PSU and OSU which means that there is a legitimate possibility that Indiana might be the Huskers opponent in the B10 chamionship game
Wow what a banner year that would be for IU fans, football team in the B1G Championship game with shot at Rose Bowl and Basketball team #1 ranked.
I'M HERE!! Thanks Bobda....but....another meaningful game that goes to QB injury and makes the weak "D" of NU look better than it is. They talk about a power running game coming back to NU. Didn't we have 1st and goal at the 2....and ended up having to punt?....ooohhh, I'm sorry, I meant a FG. Martinez is still a T.O. risk, and our OL can't block but for a 1 count. Other than that, I'm a pretty happy camper. Re: IU The Lincoln Huskers vs. the Hickory Huskers!!.....wait a minute...that's BB isn't? HOOSIERS AND HUSKERS!!!....yeah, I'll never live that one down....
Terry, What would be the point spread if Oregon played Indiana in the Rose Bowl? +40? Even if Nebraska, Wisconisn, or Michigan get to the game, I suspect one would be looking at Oregon being at least a 15-19 pt. favorite. The team that has to be kicking themselves is NW. They had double digit leads againt both PSU and Nebraska in the 4th quarter and coughed up both games. Otherwise they would be undefeated right now. A lot of interesting games in the B10 this year: a battle royale between a hoard of Lilliputian teams.
AJ, agree that this year's Husker train will not anyone to confuse them with the the vintage teams of Osborne's that would pancake teams. Maybe Dr. Tom will have 2nd thoughts, look at Bill Snider's success, and come back and coach. It would be nice to see one B10 team able to stand up to the Evil Empire, Part Two presently under construction in Columbus. Black Saturday for channel surfing. Between the Tigers, Wolverines, and a game in Norman that I had some interest in, it was like alternating between cyanide, rat poison, and Drano.
