I like it. I boldly predict that many (not all) of those who don't like Knight but have never seen or heard him in a relaxed setting will change their minds about him or at least will soften their view of him. I can envision him in the studio with his friends Vitale and Phelps, and others, just analyzing and dissecting the game and the teams. It will be good stuff.

I heard him on Mike & Mike this morning. He refused to talk about the IU situation with Sampson. He handled Greenberg's questions about it deftly and with humor, claiming he has not paid any attention to it.

It will be interesting to see how he and Digger interact. When they were coaching Digger was Knights "boy" if you know what I mean.

    I've always enjoyed Knight's candor...

Very funny. The interviewer in the video, Don Fisher, is still doing the IU games.

Terry, I recall the first time Digger faced IU and Bob Knight. I believe it was 1971 and the first year for both coaches at their respective schools. The ND team had been decimated by graduation and was using football players as walkons. We lost 94-29, the worst ND loss I ever witnessed (I watched on on TV). That score still is emblazoned in my memory. I also recall riding down to a ND-IU game in Bloomington in a car with 4 IU fans. Shumate was playing and had a monster game as ND won. I'll never forget getting back in the car for the trip home and keeping my mouth shut as one of the distraught IU fans (bigger than me) described Shumate as a "sweathog".

Yes, Knight beat Digger many more times than vice versa, but they have been good friends for a long time.

At first I thought somebody had mastered the Bob Knight voice, and dubbed over a regular interview. That was funny, Knight looked like he must have been pretty young at that point.

Sid your first mistake was riding in a car with IU fans!! :)
