Local TV stations are reporting that he's in critical condition. Have heard that it is worse than being reported. He was a tough, good coach who was a true Michigan man.
ESPN link: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2665857&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines The rumor mill in AA is that he has been in really poor cardiac health for some time. This sounds bad.
Now being posted that he has passed. How ironic, that he passes away on the eve of what maybe the greatest Ohio State/Michigan game in history. May he rest in peace.
A huge loss to the Michigan community...my condolences to Bobda and all Michigan fans. So much for Woody welcoming him to heaven...I'm sure he won't speak to him until after the game.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2665857 I share Terry's thought of the irony of his passing on the eve of the Ohio State game. Woody and Bo, by force of their personalities and skill as coaches, made the rivalry one of the great ones in college football. Hard to believe both are now gone for they were larger than life itself.
I heard the news on the radio, while driving in my van. He certainly was a football legend and a very tough and fierce competitor. Certainly not a bad way to go when your number is called. Don
How ironic...on the eve of what many have suggested is the greatest of the showdowns in this the greatest rivalry in all sport. I grieve as if I have lost one of my own....no, I take that back....I look on Bo as one of my own. Anybody that was brought up where I was, when I was, how I was would appreciate that indeed Bo was a member of the family and has been for the better part of my life. Bo now has a much better seat than he would have otherwise have had for this magnificient match-up and now he's right next to his friend and mentor.....he and Woody are no doubt discussing this ballgame and Woody no doubt is dogging him to the end as we speak for trying to one-up his old coach to the very end..... God bless his family, God bless Bo and, yes, with every fiber of my being, God bless Michigan and comfort them in their grief.......
