    LSU certainly did not look like the #1 team in the first half. They finally picked up in the 2nd half, but then it seemed that neither team was playing a whole lot of defense.

    The game was sure a wild finish! The two points made the difference in the 3rd OT.

    Wonder what will happen tomorrow?

    I couldn't believe the score of the Nebraska game, 65-51 in regulation! I remember when Nebraska might not give up 65 points in a season.

    I think thats at least the 3rd time Neb has given up more than 60 points this year. That's a seriously bad defense.

    I wonder if Houston Nutt will be fired next week as well. His teams have certainly been wildly inconsistent.

    It could be a W.VA vs Kansas/Mizzou BCS or Ohio State could also end up in the BCS game as well. Who would it be if OU wins the B12 and WVa loses to UConn? Ohio State vs who?

    Well Don, things are looking good for the Bucks as the winner of Kan./Mizoo will probably have to play Oklahoma in the B12 championship game.

    I do not see either Kansas or Missouri being able to beat Oklahoma.

    I think

    <t>Hawaii is in the BCS.<br/>
    <br/>
    I don't know if the polls will work out in their favor, and I am sure the BCS conferences don't like paying out that money to 'outsiders' but they did what they had to do.<br/>
    <br/>
    Boise State was a much better team at the end of the year than the one who lost early to a Washington team that had not yet been affected by the 'great motivator.'</t>

    I'm thinking along with Bobda here. As much as I hate to admit it, the best team in the country at the end of this season is USC. They lost two games earlier, when more than a dozen starters went down with injuries and their QB was trying to play with a broken finger. In the Stanford game, they has ZERO scholarship cornerbacks. They were down to walk-ons and the winning TD pass was thrown over a walk-on.

    Now their injured players have all returned and they are scary looking. I don't see anyone in the Top 10 that they wouldn't blast and they will certainly blast either Ohio State or Michigan in the Rose Bowl if it comes to that. Their other possible route is the Holiday Bowl, where Terry's theories of Big 12 superiority will be severely tested...

    However this amazing season finally plays out, it will have a strange ending, that's for sure. Does anyone really believe that Kansas, Missouri or West Virginia are the best teams in the land? Who votes for that? I can't imagine any of those teams finishing in the Top three of either the SEC or Pac10 and they might not be able to do it in the Big Ten neither...

    Just my opinion...

    I agree with JO'Co. SC would have clobbered anyone on Thursday night. They looked like a professional team.

    Southern California scares me to death whether it be the Rose Bowl or New Orleans. (Doubtful for my Buckeyes)

    hmmmmmm, I'd say you're half-right at best. But it looks like we'll have to wait until next September when we visit them in LA to test that hypothesis.....

    By my calculations, number geek that I am, probabilities would now be slightly in favor of the Buckeyes being in New Orleans for the NC game!

    GO UCONN, GO PITT, GO SOONERS!

    So what? Whine, whine, whine. They had their chance. Injuries are a part of the game. If you are good enough, you overcome those things and you WIN. You don't let a team like Stanford beat you under any circumstances. Plus, how do you know that ASU is that good? You don't. There are other one and two loss teams that can make the same kind of claim. USC is history this year. I dread having to listen to the talking heads in the media and on this board sing that whining tune. What a bunch of hogwash.

    Since when did you become a USC apologist? They are NOT the best team in the country. Face it.

    Not only what Sid said, but according to the west coasters USC has 85 HS AA on it's team so injuries don't count!!

    about USC

    <t>if there was a playoff right now, i'm not sure many folks would be able to line up and play with them. <br/>
    <br/>
    I agree that they choked and are out of consideration (for now), but they are in the BCS bowl picture for sure.</t>

    I'm not apologizing for USC; nor do I believe that they deserve anything more than they're getting. I didn't say that. I was just pointing out that the two best teams at the end of the season, USC and Georgia, may wind up in under bowls. Its all part of the craziness this year...

    So tell us, JO'Co: how crazy is it?

    Consider this gem...
    If Arizona upsets ASU next week like they did last year, and UCLA upsets USC next week like they did last year....then the Pac10 representative in the Rose Bowl will be.....UCLA. No kidding.

    USC looks pretty good right now but like so many teams that are pretty good and play a tough conference schedule ( Georgia, Florida, LSU....for example) the Trojans could not get enough done about that schedule to slide into the NC game.

    I don't know about the Big 12 as whole and I have my opinions about Ohio State's schedule ( so does Jeff Sagarin and Lou Holtz amongst many) and West Va.'s schedule.

    The one loss thing vs. two loss thing will keep some deserving teams out of the NC picture. LSU has lost two "tie" games in multiple overtimes but they have no chance to play for the title.

    Just like FSU in the old weak ACC and Miami in the old weak Big East some years what matters most is the kind of schedule you have so you can rack up wins with one loss or less.

    Tennessee is SEC East champ today because they have a survivability factor that toughed it out but....they didn't have to play the two toughest teams in the SEC West....LSU and Auburn... and Florida did.

    You can say that was not a factor for Tenn but I wouldn't agree in a million years with that one.

    Well Missouri broke the Jayhawks heart last night. I thought it was a very interesting game. If Missouri plays the way they did in the first three quarters they will give the Sooners all they can handle in the Big 12 championship game.
