That is very shocking to me. Trump is so embattled in the media and Black leadership blames him for every time a policeman shoots a black man. Even though Biden is hardly a dynamic candidate I still feel he's going to win handily just by being "not Trump".

Contrary to what many people think, the black community realizes the safety that the police bring to many neighborhoods. If anything they want more police presence not less.

Not surprising to me and much because of what gipper said.

I also don't think Biden wins handily.

    But we will see.

If Trump gets anywhere near 45% of the black vote...then he has a chance to win New York and New Jersey. If he wins New York, the election is ovah before California even votes...

Since WW2, the highest percentage of Republican black voters was 39% in 1956. Goldwater dropped that percentage to 6% and in has been in the low teens since. There might be an increase this year but Rasmussen numbers seem beyond the realm of possibility.

Bobda, approval rating does not necessarily translate into votes. But it may well be a predictor of a shift to Trump even if less than 45%.

I suspect it will be somewhere around 15-18%. There are enough black conservatives running for office SHOWING what decades of Democrat policies have done to wake up some of them.

Sid, the two polls quoted were Rassmussen and Zogby. They are both credible pollsters.

Scott hit on it. The more black candidates on the ballot, the more votes that will go to Trump. He got 8% of the black vote in 2016. I'm not sure if another GOP candidate ever did that well. If he could double that I think he will be fine.

Well, Biden and the Democrats will work hard on the message that you are not really black if you vote for Trmp.

I never would dispute that anything is possible. Just look at past presidential elections going back to 1936. Here's some historical context.

For all the concern about his performance with non-White voters, Biden is still far ahead among both Black and Latino voters: Quinnipiac, the Economist, Navigator and CBS/YouGov show him leading by 72, 64, 85 and 74 percentage points, respectively, among Black voters, and those same pollsters put him ahead by 20, 34, 35 and 38 points among Hispanics, respectively.
