Big 12 Commish proposes No Redshirt.

    He's recommending that the redshirt year be eliminated and football players instead will have 5 years of eligibility. To me this makes a lot of sense, there are some kids who as freshman are ready to play from day 1 and they do play, there are some who need about half the season and then they are ready to play, but at that point it becomes a decision as to wheter or not the best thing to do is burn their redshirt for a half season or less.

    Right now I can't think of any negatives, it won't cost any more money as so many players stay 5 years as it is, and those who don't usually are going to the NFL, or don't continue playing for various reasons (injury, academics,etc)

    I agree with this.

    But it probably makes to much sense to happen.
