Over the rumble at the end of the game. The thing that bothers me about this discipline is that they should have specifically stated that Flag plants and other acts of disrespect such as dancing on Logos will not be allowed and each instance will result in a fine, or something like that. Instead they fined them both 10K, for lack of control. They left the door open for Flag planting and dancing on Logos as long as the home team doesn't interfere and fight them. Big 10 Punishment
This was the Big Ten, not the NCAA. The NCAA needs to issue the warning to not flag plant. What happens if the next instance is a out of conference game? The Big Ten can't impose a fine on a non-conference university.
MSU, a school of hypocrisy(?)...here is a team that can dish it out but can't take it when the tables get turned. Irony has a funny way of playing its cards and MSU got bit not once but twice in two weeks. I agree Tom that the NCAA needs to step in and make a stand on this. Whatever happened to the term "act like you've been there before!" These teams/players that are doing this are just showing disrespect on themselves and their schools...So do you think this is a lack of control from the coaches and a sign of things to come, or have we seen the last of this from this season with the B10 coming down on these schools? Matt In INdy Go Blue!!
Stu... Very good! The only thing I got on that one is...Heisman! Who won it? And certainly we are talking about 2 somewhat different terms...celebrating a terrific play versus planting flags and dancing on logos after a game. You may view this differently but I don't. Matt in INdy Go Blue!
Sometimes things work out well with the flag planting, logo stomping etc, Miami makes a big deal out of stomping on Louisville's logo then get their clocks cleaned. Sometimes justice is served. But I agree that a stand should be taken against that kind of stuff. FSU is famous for it also.
