I thought the market was saturated with college sports...but apparently not!! :)

Big 10 is close to closing a deal that will turn it's 100M/year for tier 1 rights into about 250M/year for 1/2 of the Tier 1 rights!

Maybe they'll just buy the SEC and run it as a subsidiary of the B10! :) I can see it now come to the Alabama HS Camp brought to you by the Big 10 Schools! :)

So how come all those schools who called ND "greedy" for their TV contract aren't being labeled "greedy" for this contract?

    Gip,
It's all perspective. When the other guy does it, it's greed, when you do it it's shrewd business.

Looks like those teams/conferences who have good contracts will reap the rewards and the followers will struggle to even have a football program.

There is continuing talk/rumors/etc about how much longer the B12 can survive. It has the worst TV deal, and only 10 schools and no championship game.

Texas fans are adamant they don't want to go to the SEC, and are divided between the Pac12 and the Big 10. Personally I would think Texas would be a great fit for the Big10. Large State schools with good academics dominate the Big10, Texas fits that criteria. Also we'd be able to stay mainly in the central timezone and that's pretty big as well. Travel would be about the same for both.

Biggest plus is that we'd likely get reunited with our old friends Neb in the Big10 West!!! I'd like that! ;)

Texas has been invited to join the 12Pac twice before. I'm sure they would be welcome any time.

They'd have a lot of fun in the Pac12... but adding Texas would mean adding one more team and damn it, we're not letting BYU in. I don't care how shiny the coat tails are that they are riding.

Im hoping the SEC does not get any bigger. If you can't play all of the other teams in some sort of time period, its not a conference anymore. :?
