    The new timing rules are out and I agree with Dodd that scoring will be down in the NCAA this year and I don't like it.

    The NFL is the NFL and frankly some games like 20-17 are way too compact and almost predictable.

    I like the wildness and unpredictability of the college game and prefer the 34-31 barnburners....

    Out of curiosity, are they still stopping the clock after a first down? That has led to more plays in colleges than the pros.

    I think the clock is still stopped after a first down gipper. I haven't read where that was dropped.

    I agree, I like the college game and don't think we should be trying to make it more like the NFL.

    Ever been to a D-2 or 3 game. They're played in about 2 1/4 hrs. It's the same game with the same rules. They big problem is that there aren't any TV timeouts. What is happening is that TV is finding college games too long. They blame the rules instead of the real culprit, themselves. The NCAA is doing their bidding, shortening the game by the rules so that TV can have all their breaks. Money once again talks.
