Frisco in last place. After breaking records for blown saves last year, they blew THREE leads today with their new bullpen and got beat on the final pitch at Arizona...
Giants fans are not taking the loss with a great amount of stoicism: http://www.mccoveychronicles.com/2017/4/2/15156724/sf-giants-recap-blown-save-sunday-ruined-opening-day-ruined-ashen-taste-in-mouth-season-over
Astros and Dallas Keuchel see if they can avoid he disasterous April they had last year that put them in a deep deep hole. Oakland is in town. We certainly need Keuchel to return to his 2015 form.
Don't get too comfortable, AJ. It's a marathon. Your best pitcher couldn't put us away in your home park. Be careful that your ESB tour doesn't become the ESO tour (Empire Strikes Out).
Puig batted in the 8 slot for the Dodgers? I thought the Dodgers were through with him, what happened to get him back into the lineup? The 8 slot is a big come down from where he was when he first hit L.A.
Those are very impressive rings. The Cardinals have a great winning tradition. How is all that going to help this year's team?
FWIW AJ, I always fear the Cardinals. They are are one of the best run organizations and best managed teams in MLB.
They (the Cards) even have their own Cyber Hacking division to steal information from competitiors!
- Thank you Jesus for the San Diego Padres... - Puig earned his way back onto the team late last year and he did well. His biggest task has been convincing his teammates that he's a serious ballplayer and not a rabid squirrel. So far, he's doing well, he is batting 8th in the lineup. I'm not sure that he will ever be fully trusted by this team again. He should have been traded long ago, but nobody wants him. With all their great outfielders, the Dodgers don't need him for anything. - Phenom! The current phenom in the Dodgers system is D.J. Peters. He was one of the last players to be cut and he is special. Just a few weeks ago he was playing for Glendora High School and at age 18, he's almost ready right now...
Oops! ESB tour temporarily derailed 2-1 by Jake Arrieta. P.S. Not a bad outing for Wainwright after the injury problems of the past two seasons.
Cardinal pitching on paper should be good, but then you look at all the injuries they've had and you wonder if they can stay healthy for the full season.
